Requested maintenance for a busted AC unit, since it has been close to and over 100 degrees the past few days. Went about 3 weeks without AC before someone came by. It worked for 2 days after whatever was done, and has been out for over a week again already. The tech was friendly, but friendly doesn't keep a 10 or 6 year old kid cool enough to not experience heat injuries like exhaustion.

My girlfriend was home with our 2 year old when some teens were lighting fireworks outside our apartment when asked to stop they threatened to beat her @$$. After this they shot fireworks at our door before leaving. After she called me I called the office leaving a voice-mail on 6/25 as of 6/28 they haven't acknowledged the call. She has been approached by them since with them making the same violent threats. They have been called about this as well without acknowledgement. Not exactly a safe place or responsive management.

My experience is good overall. It's a safe family community. This place is not that cheap when it comes to maintaining the grounds. I've seen various contractor work being done here. This is all a good sign they pay for professional work. It's probably tenants deposit money being used but most apartments do this anyway, from experience I never expect a full deposit back. They do need to upgrade the garbage and recycling machines. I believe the recycling no longer compacts. I live in the 1st floor and the one complaint is I can hear the tenants above walking and it's loud, they act like they don't live in an apartment. So I suppose the flooring above is made thinly. The second complaint is about dog owners especially large dog owners. These people should not take care of dogs if they cannot pick up the poop in obvious places. Laziest people. Some even let their dog poop on the concrete. So the BIGGEST issues are from tenants laziness and not being mindful in the community. In the summer, You will hear kids skateboarding in certain places around the complex, but I don't mind. They are good kids just playing. Management and staff made it easy to move in last year in the beginning of the pandemic. I had no issues with communication and paperwork. I'm happy to move in here, it can be much worse at the non gated complexes. I was recommended to move here and I don't regret and I've recommended this place to others.

The apartment itself was fine. But they are difficult to get in. I was trying to sublet ( pay a tenant to rent a room) and I was told I had to have a background check which cost me $45. My background is clear. No felonies or violence. Had I been asked about my credit I could have explained and possibly not wasted their time or my money. The thing is this... I wasn't trying to rent my own unit. I was simply trying to be added as an occupant. I would have payed my part to my roommate who would be responsible for paying seeing has he was the "Renter". So my credit should have only been questioned had he had concerns. So now I understand why Portland has so many homeless people. At this rate I'll possibly need a tent soon myself 😤
