JOY is our favorite local cinema!! Great prices on food…please don’t sneak stuff in :) it really helps to support the cinema! We loved the later releases but now they are playing new releases and we will go there every time vs a big chain. We love the Joy!

Reasonably priced, friendly, not overly crowded. It is an old place and some seats are not in great shape, but it gives it an nostalgic atmosphere.

Nice to be back at the Joy again, with its friendly folks at the ticket/concession stand, and 50s/60s era horror/monster-movie poster decor in lobby and bathrooms, contrasted with Dolby Sound and high-res projection in the theater. We went on $5 movie Tuesday to see "Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," and it occurred to me that the movie posters for Dr. Strange (if they make them anymore) would be a perfect contemporary complement to the older-era posters they have decorating the walls now... At any rate, welcome back and best wishes to the Joy for a long, successful run in these post-Covid times!

Wonderful nostalgic movie theater experience! The theater is clean and spacious, the sound quality and visual effects are just right in the comfort zone, not too loud or too brightly contrasted to be overly exciting to a point of challenging or annoying to the senses, the good food and drinks at the lowest theater prices, the care to ensure enjoyment and JOY in your movie-watching experience as a fun event... I think it is the more subtle art of theaters and movie-showing; all goes to show the owner's and staff's passion, love of motion pictures, and characters in doing their best to give you the best, unique, good old honest theater and movie-going fun, especially during the pandemic when even the biggest studios and theater chains took big set-back and losses... So, once you take the good precautions, go out to enjoy some great movies at this Joy cinema now showing first-run and old classic movies, while supporting wonderful small businesses, a gem, in this Wonderful JOY Cinema... And no, I don't know the owner until talking to him at the concession stand tonight (should have tried it long ago)! Thank you so much for being here, JOY cinema!!

Though get to the theatre a little early! There's only one ticket booth and it's also concessions so the line gets long. There's also barely any ads at the beginning so you can watch a silly slideshow of amusement parks.

Mondays are the bargain days at the Joy Cinema. Regular films are $1 while 3d films are $2. Great deal for the family. Every Wednesday they offer one movie for free as part of the Weird Wednesday promotion. It is usually the 9:00-9:30 pm showing and you have to be 21 and over.
