Such a mixed bag, where to start. Was going to do a good/bad, pro/con - but maybe I should just outline in order. Wife and I decided to replace our kitchen countertops including the island in the middle. They asked if we wanted to by a new sink, but we opted to keep our existing drop in sink (this comes into play later). The price was right and I liked supporting a local small business. A few months later, the day arrives. Two guys arrive with a trailer and get to work. I go upstairs and leave them to it. Many hours later they call up and stay they are done. I come downstairs, and the countertops look great, but they will need to return to do the back splash another day (this comes into play later). They also tell me that because they are not plumbers I will need to reinstall my sink on my own. This is the first time I'm hearing of this. Now, if you can't install sinks, why did you offer to sell us one? If you can't do plumbing why were you able to completely unhook mine? If you couldn't seal and caulk the sink why wouldn't you mention that when we said we were keeping ours? I mentioned our displeasure with this and they did offer to knock $250 of the final price, which did just barely cover for me to hire a handy man, so that certainly helps. Fast forward a week and it's the day for them to finish the back splash. I was told they would be coming around noon. At 1:30 saying they will be here at 3, which is fine. At 3:30 I call, and am told they will be there any minute. At 3:45 they arrive. I ask how long they expect it to take as we have evening plans - and I'm told and hour, maybe an hour and a half. At 5:45 they are still cutting granite in our driveway, but say they are almost done. At this point the evening plans are shot. We end up grabbing fast food for dinner since we don't want to leave our puppy with the workers in the house. At 6:55 they were done. The back splash for the most part look nice, though now I'm told that I will need to get new screws for one of my outlets because it no longer fits after the granite was added (not a big deal, but surprised they don't have common screws for outlets. Also the backsplash against one wall is significantly thicker (like a whole slab thick) compared to another wall. Also the corners on the backsplash are not beveled like the countertops (but I'm not sure we discussed that). Also the stove/range seems to be pulled out more than before (they had to take it completely out to install the countertops). I can't push it all the way back now, but I might be able to fix this myself. Also, we could have sworn we picked out quartz, not granite (like we got), but no paperwork was done before install so we'll never know. The design is what we picked out from the shop, so no complaints there. After missing our dinner plans due to it taking twice as long as predicted, I asked why they were needing to cut the pieces now? I was told that they had to move the electrical outlet to ensure the backsplash wasn't too thin above it. I was confused, and asked why these measurements were not done the first time they were out. I was told that they did not "know the plan until today". How is that possible? Overall, the product looks nice, and the price was fair. You are very much dealing with a small company though, so take all that under consideration.

If I could give them a 10, I would. From start to finish a great experience. Pleasant to work with all of them. Large selection of slabs to pick from. Installed ahead of scheduled date. The price was quit a bit lower than the competitors in the area. Looks fantastic! Thanks, Jack and Cheryl

They don't answer the phone, no ability to leave a voice mail. We went down to the facility which said it was open on the website but the office was closed. One young man in the shop said he would go and get someone to help us and after waiting 20 minutes, we went to find him. He was hiding behind the shop and proceeded to ignore us when we called out to him for assistance. He then turned his back on us so we left. Obviously don't bother trying to find any type of service or basic manners with these owners. We went here to buy granite countertops for 2 kitchens, one island and 4 bathrooms. They lost a huge sale.

Do they sell remnants or leftover pieces (not sure what the proper term is for slabs)?

Susan, they have a great selection of remnants for sale.

Is Solid Rock still open? I used them in the past and they were amazing! Looking to use them for my new home and haven't been able to get through on the phone lines?
