This hotel will SCAM you!!! I rented a room for my brother for 12 days. He only stayed 3 as they kicked him out due to an altercation with another resident. They REFUSED to refund any money. My brother also caught Covid from someone while there! Don’t stay here under any circumstance the management is rude and not reasonable. It’s all about the dollar here!

Scam alert!!! avoid this place at all cost!! I recently flew to Jacksonville to visit family. I booked with sunset inn thru Booking.com because it was one of the most affordable hotels in the area. I’m here to tell you PLEASE AVOID THIS PROPERTY AT ALL COST. When I first checked in I took my bags to the room and walked across the road to grab a bite to eat. When I returned to my room they had checked someone in my room. So imagine your personal belongings being stolen or damaged because the hotel let someone in the room your checked into. So after that disaster I figured out quickly the housekeeping was horrific. They have bugs and I actually witnessed a maid mop empty rooms with dirty mop water. The shower curtains were mildew and smelled. Now the worse part is I booked my room for two weeks and had to cut my trip short due to a family emergency back home. So I inform the hotel I will be checking out a week earlier. I was told with an uncaring and combative attitude I wouldn’t get my money back which I paid upfront due to policies of booking thru Booking.com. So I called bookings and they said it was up to the hotel to refund. Booking.com even emailed the hotel and asked them to refund my money in consideration of my family emergency being the reason my trip is cut short. The sunset general manager refused. So basically they will be charging me for a week that I’m not even at the hotel let alone the state. The staff are rude and inhospitable. Except the one manager Bre. At least she did listen and try to help me figure this out so I’m thankful to her. Besides that I have nothing positive to say about this hotel. It’s definitely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. The funny thing is I thought hotels were in the business of hospitality. Bottom line I shouldn’t be getting charged for time I’m not spending there. They could have refunded me a weeks stay but chose not to do the right thing. Like the place is money hungry and don’t care about the costumer after getting paid. So if your ever in Jacksonville NC avoid the sunset inn at all cost. Unless you want to be scammed and took advantage of.
