Quite possibly the worst ER experience I have ever had. I called them before hand to make sure they would deal with my medical issue (catheters that needed to be changed) they told me to come in, that they would take care of me. Sat in the waiting room for 3 hours before getting a room (that’s common, no big deal). After they finally put me in a room I waited another 3 hours for them to tell me they would not help me. Told me that getting my catheters switched out was “non emergent”. The urologist very obviously did not want to deal with me, and wouldn’t let his nurses deal with me either. I will never ever go back to that emergency room. I would also NEVER recommend Maine general urology. They very clearly told me they would not deal with me due to the fact that it was a gender surgery that I had. If you want attentive care, it’s wise to go elsewhere

Waited over 3 hours to be seen after a bug was stuck in my girlfriends ear. Arrived at 1am on Sunday morning and they were averaging only taking 1 patient back every 30 minutes.

Great experience overall for a terrible day. Staff, nurses and doctors were all very nice. I had to only wait 15min to be taken back to a room. Feeling much better after being in their care.

I do not write reviews at all, but the experience I've encountered at MaineGeneral Medical Center's Emergency Room has compelled me to write this. I was the overseer for my parent who had an abnormal large fever and horrible physical pains and headaches. We waited a total of 4 hours just to leave the ER because the wait for a room seemed worthless due to nurses and the front desk constantly saying that the wait would be 15 minutes multiple times and truly not being accurate or even considerate to any patient. I asked politely if there was anything or any place that would be more comfortable since this parent had joint issues and needed to lie down on a flat surface and the most they could do was a blanket when the patient was struggling to keep stable from dizziness. If you are truly in need of health services and care this is not the place to go to. If you are prepared to die or suffer in an emergency room waiting area where the workers are not understanding and do not care about their patients, then this is the place for you.

No dentist. They can do some dental stuff but very little.
