I order takeout from here almost once a week (sometimes more) and never have I experienced any rotten food or bad smells in the restaurant (I question those peoples' real motivations for writing their review)... This is my favorite place to eat in Reston simply because the food is delicious. Mandarin gets really busy at times but the staff is friendly and are always prompt in the time they say the food will be ready by. Don't take my word for it though, try it out for yourself

Low quality food, drowned in soy sauce, and very salty is what I describe their lo mein or better call it soy mein

Very disappointed in my first experience. Staff was very kind, but food was the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Wonton soup was bland and wontons were mushy. The chicken and broccoli with white sauce had no flavor.

This is, without exaggeration, my all-time favorite restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious (my favorite being the general tso's tofu, where the tofu's texture is spot on and the flavor knocks it out of the park), they've got a good selection of teas, the portions are enough for multiple meals, and the staff is always incredible friendly to talk to. Whenever out-of-town friends or family visit I usually treat them to food from Mandarin and it's a guarantee hit. Can never recommend this place enough.
