Great campground right on the river! The campsites were clean and dry. The bathrooms also looked like they had been updated recently, they were also clean with a few spiders of course. There are trains that run through the night which can be pretty loud but I didn’t hear anything with ear plugs in.

We stopped in to check out the area. Met the owner, very nice. He mentioned some upcoming music events.. Will follow up on those!

3.5 stars. Very nice location on a bend of the New River. On the opposite bank there are sheer cliffs that are beautiful. Campsites are on a little bluff above river, with short, steep paths down to the water. We put a canoe in there. Nice host (Dave). Campsites are very close together, all in full sun. Only one other camper was there when we stayed (October weekdays). Probably more crowded on weekends? Bathroom facility pretty dingy, but water nice and hot for showers. The trains? They come frequently on weekdays (averaging one per hour, day and night, when we were there). They were loud, and woke us up at night, but if you like trains, you'll be happy! The trains come through a tunnel in the cliff and must blow their horns every time. It's sort of fun, but probably not if you're a light sleeper.

Serene, out of the way location. Very peaceful and quiet place when the two train tracks aren't running. But they run A LOT. Loved the little store but when I went in during business hours to shop, it wasn't open. I like what the owners are trying to do. Majority of spots were permanent but we went mid week and had a spot down by the river all to ourselves. Bath/shower house was clean. Really only real negative is the trains but nothing they can do about that.

How much does it cost to camp.

And, hate to say it Donna Polly but you are incorrect on the tent camping price. Here are the prices for overnight camping: non-electric sites are $20/night, electric sites are $25/night and full hook-up for RVs are $50/night.

How much is tent camping per night? What other cost?

$20.00 if you don't need water and electric. The bathrooms are nearby and there's a big stainless double sink in front of the building to get water. He also has a section with water and electric hookups but I don't know what he gets for those. A $20 bill will cover you for a night with no hookups.

When does campground open for season thanks

We are open year round but the bath house doesn't open until April. We winterize it for the cold season. The plan is to have port-a-potty or two for overnight camping during the cold months in the future.

What other rivers creeks streams flow through

I couldn't begin to tell you all the names because there are so many streams and creeks in the area but other than the New River there's the Little River. The campground is right on the banks of the New River.
