I was worried about bringing my GSD anywhere until I brought him here. I can take him hiking off leash now and he’s very well behaved! They’ve also met me at places around town to walk him and work on training.

The folks at Sit Means Sit are so positive and friendly! They work with you to train your dog, and you won't believe how quickly you see a change in behavior. My dog was trying to herd traffic, and we couldn't take him for walks without being pulled into the street after big trucks. He is now so well behaved! The classes are fun, and my dog loves going! SMS is forthcoming and transparent about their use of e-collars, which are different from shock collars. It's natural to have reservations about using this tool for training, and it took me time to understand my dog's responses and working level. If you have a commitment to your animal and want to build a strong bond and level of ongoing trust, you have to understand that YOU are the true the trainee, not your dog. The benefit of lifetime training and teamwork with Kevin is a value that, for me, outweighs the cost. I should post video of his excited response to me removing the collar from its charge and turning it on - to Kevin, the collar means "adventure ahead!"

I’m an experienced dog owner, having shown and trained my dogs to championships and AKC titles. However, my new puppy had me seriously doubting my abilities. He’s extremely reactive to new people and dogs, as he LOVES EVERYBODY. He’s very exuberant and friendly, but my left shoulder was taking a beating from all the sudden bolting. At my wits’ end, I contacted Sit Means Sit, and long story short, I signed my boy up for 21 days of train and board. The results were amazing. I had a “new” pup who was finally responding to my commands. It’s been two years, and we’re still working on the reactive behaviors, but the key to any training is consistency and continued work. SMS provides classes in which you continue to use their methods, and are excellent at resolving problem areas. Their method involves a shock collar, but don’t let that worry or scare you. They teach you to use it correctly. My dog needs the stronger signal; some dogs just need a vibration. Andrea and her team of trainers genuinely love all dogs, and they are incredibly patient. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit!

Honestly in the being they had me. The lady showed me her well trained dog that is already trained very well. I feel like I was kinda mislead there but I really loved everything she was telling me I was excited to have my dog here. So I paid $200 for the collar, now it doesn’t even work anymore which is a bummer $200 down the drain. Anyway I sent my dog here for 15 days that was about $3000. So I was hoping he knew how to sit, come when called, or answer the door for the price I’m paying. But no when I picked him up after the 15 days my dogs trainer couldn’t keep my dogs attention, couldn’t even get him to show what they learned. He was all over the place, everytime I went there the same dogs always in the kennel outside, in the hot sun. It’s like they can’t control the dogs with the remote they had.when I was there I had to loosen my dogs collar cause it was so tight. After seeing everything I needed to see and experience I would recommend going to another place my dog also got sick after. So be careful who you leave your dogs with. $3000 isn’t worth spent here.
