Chefs were very professional and knowledgeable. Combination of appetizers, sushi and other seafoods were nicely balanced as well.

If you love sushi and having hard time to find a good one, this is the place for you! Master piece & unforgettable Omakase! You will be definitely regretted if you had chance to visit Seattle but you don’t try it!

Taneda is hands down the most perfect meal I have ever had. Seattle boasts many great sushi experiences and I feel fortunate enough to have tried many of them, but Taneda by far bests the rest with beautiful and complex flavors, an intimate balance between contemporary and traditional flavor combinations, and extremely attentive service! I rarely feel compelled to write reviews for restaurants but the quality of each ingredient and the execution made me feel I had to share my feelings for this newfound favorite! I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Chef Taneda's sushi is artistic and flavorful and everything I could ever want for a meal. I don't think I've even had such an amazing sushi meal in Japan! I can't wait to come back.

Update on Oct 2021: TLDR: Still the best sushi place in Seattle with the best ever monthly menu! ——— Pro: 1. Oct 2021’s menu contains so many good fish and variations of makes, including blackthroat nigiri, Wagyu steak and shabu shabu 2. The seasonings were great and heavier than before. The yuzu seasonings were the best, super refreshing and good-smell, you can taste it on some white fish, as well as the steak’s sauce; 3. Everyone is so kind as always ——— Cons: 1. The price increased again based on my memory, more than the summer’s. The food is also better, so let’s say it’s a fair increase, though I still prefer the ~$140 range which really made it stands out in the whole west coast 2. Still hard to reserve. Some people even used cheating software to get a seat, making it even harder. —————— The best quality sushi place in Seattle so far with monthly different menu. Service is great, hard to make the reservation. The price is fine, though it used to be much better value (~$50 less before 2020)

I believe the two nightly seatings are at 6pm and 9pm. It is hard to get a reservation regardless. Try using the Yelp "notify me" option to be notified of a cancellation. That's the only way I've been able to get in so far.
I recommend taking a different approach. Taneda has an online reservation system with bookings clearly a month or more out booked solid. There's 9 seats in the restaurant, two seatings per night - rarely 3. This already severely limits anyone casually trying to get a spot. What's nice is the search and the wait list feature of the reservation system. Pick a 5pm slot and check multiple days and see if any available two person bookings show up. If none available, add yourself to be notified on the wait list for your preferred dates and times. When I first booked taneda it was easy when it opened and no one heard how amazing this experiment is. Now I've dined twice more following this new approach. Having a little patience and being flexible with timing and dates by leveraging the wait-list function has helped greatly. People cancel all the time. If on the wait list, they'll text you if you're on and in that moment you'll have 10-12 mins to decide if you can take advantage. Good luck 👍
