The Miller Insurance Agency is so amazing. They have been our agent for over 5 years and they still seem to amaze me. I recently bought a motorcycle and getting it insured was incredibly simple. After we got the motorcycle insurance complete they sent me an email about the insurance on my other vehicles ensuring I was happy with what I had on all the other vehicles. Due to my indecisiveness I had changed my mind a few times while going over my current policy. They were happy to make any and all changes in their response was quick simple and polite. Two days later I sold one of my cars and bought a new one, I was feeling bad that I had to have them go through the policy again to add the new vehicle. Gretchen happily made changes to my policy again and didn’t miss a beat treating me as if it was my first time calling them even though I had already made changes three different times in the last three days. I am so proud to call them my agent and recommend them to everybody that is in the market for insurance. They always find the best deal and they always make dealing with them a great experience. I have never once had a single issue with any of my policies or with their customer service. I wish I could tell the world how great they are. If you are in the market I highly recommend giving them a try.

I have nothing but good things to say! We currently have insurance through a different company but I had questions about an accident we had, I called Gretchen and she was extremely helpful. She answered all my questions in a lot of detail and in a way that I could understand. Needless to say, we will be contacting Gretchen again when/if we switch car insurance.

What is Gap Coverage?

The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019
The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019

Also known as Guaranteed Auto Protection. It is insurance covering the difference between the actual cash value (ACV) of a damaged or stolen vehicle and the amount owed on the car under a loan or lease. This difference arises due to the rapid depreciation of most automobiles in their early years and can prove problematic if the car is totaled in an accident or if it is stolen and not recovered. GAP coverage is often sold through credit unions and automobile finance companies and frequently written on leased vehicles. For example, if a leased car with an ACV of $20,000 is stolen, the physical damage section of the auto policy would pay $20,000 minus any applicable deductible. However, if the lease still had $25,000 outstanding, the insured would be liable for the extra $5,000. GAP insurance would pay the extra $5,000 to the leasing company. In recent years, GAP insurance has become available by endorsement under either a commercial or a personal auto policy.

What is the difference between Uninsured Motorists coverage and Underinsured Motorists coverage?

The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019
The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019

Uninsured Motorist Coverage – This coverage typically pays for injury you suffer from an accident caused by a person who has no insurance; a person who can't be located ("hit and run drivers"); or a person who has insurance but their insurance company is insolvent. Underinsured Motorist Coverage - Similar to uninsured motorist, it pays for injuries caused by a driver who is inadequately insured. Example: You are seriously injured by someone carrying a bodily injury limit of $25,000, but your injuries are nearly $50,000. Your Underinsured Motorist Coverage limit is $100,000. In this instance, your policy would pay the difference between $25,000 and $50,000. *****Important: Payment under this coverage is controlled by various laws that dictate what limit or limits must be sold. In some states, you may have an option to reject the coverage. Typically, the rejection must be in writing.

Is my home based business covered under my home policy?

Gretchen Reed | Aug 17, 2019
The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019

Every company differs when it comes to home based business coverage. So to be safe you would want to discuss it with your current home insurance company to be certain. Typically if there is foot traffic where clients visit your home then your home insurance would not cover that type of business. Business policies for liability only come at a very minimal expense for the coverage and protection they provide. If you have any questions in regards to your home based business contact us today (877)277-9036.

When renting a car am I covered on my current insurance policy?

The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019
The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019

Yes your vehicle policy typically will extend coverage to your rented car for liability and physical damage (if you have it) only, but NOT for loss of use! What is loss of use? That is the time the rental car company cannot rent that car out to someone else while it is being repaired due to damage you caused. Some carriers do cover this gap, so call your agent, or comment here. If you are insured with a carrier we represent, I may be able to assist you with deciphering your coverage! Another tip; your Credit Card company may cover the Loss of Use portion of your rental car, don't be afraid to call them to inquire too!.

What is Property Damage Liability?

The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019
The Miller Insurance Agency | Aug 17, 2019

Property-Damage Liability – handles damage that you may cause to another person's property. Again, the coverage only responds when you are financially responsible for such damage and it has to be related to your use or ownership of a vehicle.
