Great hiking with plenty of options from 4 miles to 15 miles. We go weekly for a 13 mile hike. Runners and mountain bikers are very courteous. Bring plenty of water in summer.

a paved road can lead you up and over a few hills to help get your heart rate up. For the more adventurous there are dirt trails that can be a relatively short walk or a much longer 10+ mile hike. I love this trail system because even on the busiest days, you can find areas of the park that are full of solitude and beautiful views. I’ve seen deer, coyotes and rabbits. It’s a local gem.

Nice quiet lake with various walking trails, peddle/paddle boating, and fishing. And the trails are dog friendly

Great 7 miles hike today. Lots of different trails. Even when the parking lot is full you can find areas to hike with few people.

Yes, please make sure to keep in a leash. There are coyotes that can snatch a small dog from the trail. There are snakes.
No fee to hike. Free parking for Daley Ranch in dirt lot or sides of road. Parking, I think, is $5 at Dixon Lake. No charge to hike to the lake. Bring sunscreen. Not much shade at Daley Ranch. Recommend a hat and sun protection, plenty of water, hike in cooler parts of the day.
There is no campground at daley ranch. Only at dixon lake
Fishing is allowed on a daily basis. You may purchase a daily permit for $5 each day. There is no limit to how many days in a row you can purchase a permit. Camp sites can be reserved ahead of time, how long you stay is based on availability.
Yes you can fish but you have to buy a permit first

At about ¾ mile from the start, you will come upon the intersection for the Engelmann Oak trail. This trail forms a loop which can be taken in either direction, connecting again with the Cougar Ridge trail about .8 miles from your current location. You can choose to take this loop where it's most densely populated with the trees either clockwise or counterclockwise.
