Wonderful place to get away and be free from the city life! Make sure you are mindful you're in the wilderness. Even in heavy populated areas the bears are looking for resources. Also, don't forget to pack out what you pack in and then some. Let's keep this forest beautiful! Great for boondocking, day trips, tent camping, photo shoots, and so much more!

I'll always be a supporter of our national forests. Colville national forests has an abundance of hiking trails, cross country skiing, parks and interesting geology. Rivers, waterfalls, caves, wildlife, and spectacular views make it a true treasure of our state.

Camping is allowed year round. As long as there are no burning bans then why not? Burning bans are not just for dry hot weathers but also put up for air quality just check with the forest service dept before you go.
One in 2013, another in 2017. In 1969 Rene Dahinden found the famous "cripple" imprints along Roosevelt Lake. 1,069 prints.
Yes there are excellent groomed trails near the pass towards the 49 degrees ski resort East of Chewelah. Snow is still great.
We camped 2 weeks ago. No fires allowed.
Camping on undeveloped sites in the forest is free. Campgrounds always charge a fee.
Yes, although you should check their website for specific restrictions and leash laws. Sad times when questions like this even need to be asked.

Nope. I've never seen any huckleberries here - at least not when I go in the winter.
