This is a rebrand: An older property spruced up with a quick coat of paint. The hotel has no car park, so you need to use the adjacent public lot, and when Murphy Ave is busy the car park fills up and you have to park somewhere else. I stayed here for a whole week and nobody serviced my room. It’s comfortable enough, but also small enough to feel confined. Next time I’ll pick one of the newer Sunnyvale hotels instead.

The explanation why the rates are lower than at other hotels: The worst hotel I've stayed in, and I stayed in Motel 6 & Travelodge .... This hotel is not 3 star, at least not anymore. After it took exactly 32 minutes to checkin, because apparently they couldn't find my reservation and then it took way too long to add it to the system, the person working the evening shift had no idea what he was doing (also he wasn't wearing a mask, when it was mandatory, I mean December of 2021). He was however making sleazy "jokes" and calling me sweetheart. After I finally got to my room, I saw that the cleanness was on a level of a motel... there were no hand soap nor moisturizer, the body wash container was filled with water, these are definitely were not Bliss products as they advertise on the containers. Then I made a mistake of taking a shower without checking for towels.... well at least there was a washcloth, that I used to dry myself..... Bring your own soap & towels (soon I could see that own toilet paper would be required too). The next morning I asked for the towels to be delivered to my room, they never got there, I just purchase a towel from Target next door. BTW do not expect to charge your car at their charging stations because they do not enforce the parking and people just park there all the time, couldn't charge once in 3 days. Due to lower prices, you will get the neighbors accordingly... Take my advise, pay $20 more and stay anywhere else.

Great staff, great location, terrible construction. The hotel is walking distance to downtown Sunnyvale, but it's also a block from the train tracks, where trains run all through the night blaring their horns. The windows are all single-pane, and outside noise is exactly the same when they're closed as when they're open. I was originally in a room where the window was 2 feet away from the hotel's front door, and all night long I could perfectly hear everyone coming and going, interspersed with train sounds. The staff were very accommodating in helping me move to a different room for the second night, and there I only had to deal with the train sounds. Rooms are teeny tiny, which is OK if you're here for business and only going to your room at the end of the day to sleep. The décor feels like it has a kind of veneer of "cool" slapped on as cheaply as possible. There's a fitness room I didn't use that looks nice, and there's a bar, and there's breakfast but no free option (unless you have a Marriott rewards membership of a certain tier). If there was double-pane glass in the windows to block out the train noise better I would've given this a higher review, but that train noise all night is a deal-breaker, and I will stay somewhere else the next time I'm in Sunnyvale.

We stayed at the Aloft Sunnyvale, California for a week last month. At first glance I was impressed by the trendy decor and the welcoming and attentive Host. Our room was spacious, clean with a king size bed. The pristine white sheets and comfortable bed along with a coffee/ tea maker, fridge, iron, hairdryer etc made out stay extremely relaxing. The bathroom has a separate shower area along with a big sink and good toiletries ( which were replenished as needed) A large working area with a comfortable chair was perfect for working executives. Another plus point is the free parking. They haven’t yet started their kitchen and restaurant services but they have a fully functioning Bar. Eryn the bartender is friendly, talkative an immensely engaging conversationalist who created delightful cocktails. We had a complimentary wine tasting ( complimentary )and enjoyed quite some interesting drinks. We also indulged in a whiskey tasting which was informative and fun. ( paid) The hosts at the reception were incredible, giving us an impeccable service which made us so comfortable. The location of the Aloft is perfect, just across the Historic Murphy avenue which hosts a number of cafes, restaurants and bars. Every Saturday there’s a Farmers market which is across the hotel. A good way to spend a Saturday morning sampling local fruits produce and delightful pop up food vendors. The Aloft Marriott is a convenient location with for connectivity around Sunnyvale town and neighbouring areas. Excellent service and staff makes this whole stay enjoyable.
