Sound Credit Union has been such an amazing bank, I wanted to leave a review and feedback on a recent experience I had. My wife and I have been saving up for a house, since we are expecting a newborn in February! About a few weeks ago, I had a fraudulent charge from an Apple Cash withdrawal for a large amount of money. To say the least, we were devastated that this happened during a stressful period of our lives. We canceled our debt card. I went to the Tacoma Downtown branch and they issued a new one, right then and there. I was relieved as I had a trip planned the next day! Additionally, I was working with a Customer Service Rep Katie via secure messages and she was able to get things reviewed. My wife and I felt so relieved after receiving credit to the account for the occurrence. It’s been a weight taken off of our shoulders and are more than happy that we have a fantastic Credit Union that are dedicated to the security of our accounts and livelihood. I am Editing my previous review from 1 to 4 stars but will leave the original text for historical purposes. Eva from management quickly contacted my wife and was able to resolve the issue, removed the negative balance fee and process the funds correctly. She handled it timely and professionally. -----Original Review Below----- Wife had called multiple times to get her last name changed on her account. She was told that is was changed. On November 1st two checks that were deposited mobily were refunded because the last names "did not match", this caused the checking account to go into the negatives as bills were withdrawn. The last names were correct and we didn't have any problems until now. She called in but was told to pound sand and that it was our fault that we didn't keep the checks. We were also told that once the money was redeposited the negative balance would be taken... we are losing money on their clerical mistake. This is absolutely unacceptable and once this issue is resolved we will be taking our business elsewhere. If you are in the market for a credit union, find someone else other than this group of thieves.

12-16-20 Having been a customer for thirty years I want to lodge a formal complaint. Sound Credit Union branches have been requesting appointments since March 2020 due to covid-19. Why, why, why is your administration so lame? You do not put the branch phone numbers or extensions on your web site. You do not list the branch numbers as an option in your call tree. We do not have time to waste trying to hunt down these numbers. Get your act together.

$ 3.50 FEE for a withdrawal if I used my SSD benefits card .. U GOTTA BE KIDDING. For a credit union charging this much, imagine the other feed associated with an actual account with this place. I've been a credit union member in the past and even down in Olympia they don't charge for using. Ridiculous at best. Maybe they need funds for the "recent name change " including the logo! Chalk it up to "location, location, location " as they say in real estate business
