They did a great job pruning 130+ year old chestnut! On time. Professional. Courteous. AND they put up with all my questions.

Wow! Just... Wow! They came in and did a major prune on our giant oak and large maple trees and we are so impressed. The amount of dead wood and broken branches that were removed was perfect and the trees are gorgeous. I can't wait to see them leaf out! The arborist was here the entire time, making sure the cuts were right and the team worked very well together. They did an awesome job cleaning up and other than now having beautifully shaped trees, you wouldn't even know they'd been here! We will definitely be hiring them the next time we need tree work. And a note on the office staff: they were professional from start to finish. Great job helping set everything up and getting the project going. Special shout out to CD! She spent a lot of time explaining what makes this company stand out above the rest. I love it when an employee is proud of who they represent. Pride and confidence is a great sales pitch!

This is our second time using Urban Forest Pro and we will use them for all our projects. They are aptly named! They are professionals from start to finish. The bid, the permitting, the scheduling and of course the actual job all run smoothly. They are also incredibly nice on the phone and in person!

Great experience working with Urban forest team on removal of trees in my front yard. Arborist was super cool and professional in estimating the costs and assessing the needs of removal. Then project manager - Sharon was amazing throughout the entire journey. Noah and his crew cut the tree quickly and cleaned everything up ideally. Then the next day Keith came with the stump grinder and made everything look in a way that I never had trees there. Fantastic experience. Can't recommend enough.

Most likely the answer to this question is yes. The good news is, we can help you with that! We know the ordinances regarding trees in the cities throughout the Portland Metro Area and can determine if you’ll need a permit, as well as assist in obtaining that permit for removal.

An arborist is a trained and certified individual who has extensive knowledge about trees and other woody plants. When it comes to evaluating a tree’s health, tree pruning, and tree care recommendations, there’s no better person to turn to than an arborist.

The best option in this scenario is to work out a compromise with your neighbor. We are not lawyers, and as a rule, don’t work with neighbors in a disagreement.

Do you grind the stump on the same day you remove the tree?

Urban Forest Pro | Aug 17, 2018
Jessica Smith | Aug 17, 2018

We usually grind the stumps on a separate day. We have a removal crew, wood removal crew, and stump grinder. We schedule them on different days so they don't get in each others way.

four pine trees that hang over our deck have, after about 30 years, started dropping sap/pitch all over the deck. They look healthy. What could be the reason?

Increased Sap/Pitch is a symptom of tree stress. Knowing stress from what requires a diagnosis from a knowledgeable arborist usually on site.

Unfortunately, there is no one-answer-fits-all for this question. Every tree is different in terms of height, canopy spread, health, and other factors that influence its removal. However, we do offer free estimates, which give us the opportunity to fully assess your tree’s situation and can provide an estimate based on your particular tree.
