Went in not expecting to find my dress but to get ideas of what I liked and fell in love with a couple dresses there! FOUND MY DRESS! And the lady who helped me was absolutely amazing and so helpful and nice! Would recommend this store to everyone I know, even if it's just for a fancy non-wedding dress or accessories! I have walked past Gown & Glove probably six zillion times since it opened on Cornwall Ave, most often while on my way to get breakfast at Arlis's next door. Finally, I had the occasion (literally) to stop in when my daughter needed a prom dress. I was super impressed with their collection of fancy gowns in every shape, color, and size. There were super formal options, as well as less formal dresses too. In the front of the store are two racks with shorter gowns, and in the back are racks and racks of longer gowns. The owner, Blanca, was really helpful in showing us how to navigate the store, even though she was simultaneously doing a bridal gown fitting while throngs of moms/teens circled the store looking for prom attire. The store was scheduled to close for the day when we were there, but being the savvy biz owner that she is Blanca stayed open with a smile on her face and we never felt rushed to finish our shopping. While my daughter ultimately didn't find her perfect dress here, I can safely say this will be our number one stop for future formal shopping. Oh, and they've got shoes, accessories, and wedding decor too! Not to mention in-house alterations. This is definitely a one-stop shop for all things fancy-pants in downtown Bham.

Amazing experience here with Blanca - we went to another local bridal shop and not one word was spoken to us. At Gown & Glove, Blanca was super helpful, not pushy, and so kind! We found the perfect dress and had such a large variety to choose from. Super easy process to get ‘er done. How cool is it to recycle a wedding dress, something that is only ever lightly worn once!?

Blanca is awesome, she really has an eye for what style looks good on women of all different shapes and sizes. She helped us tremendously with choosing not only my daughter's wedding dress, but my other daughter's maid of honor dress and my dress as well! Thanks so much!
