Very poor. The city of St Helens has outgrown this store. For the amount of business it gets, it has been needed to be enlarged for years. There are always long lines at check out. Just because St.Helens is a working-class city, we dont deserve a better store?

Typical Safeway. Good food selection and tasty deli. The self checkouts get upset when you put the bag you just bought on them. Never seen that before at a self checkout. I shudder to think what would happen if you brought your own bag. Employees say it is frustrating for them too. Seems they have alerted management but nothing changes
