I asked for a simple apology but didn't receive one, so this review is the result: I rented a truck with 137 miles on it on Monday. I checked it out at 630pm and returned it within an hour, drove 6 miles and had NO issues. Two days later, I receive an email with a contract number on it and I thought it was just a receipt. Well, it was a charge for a scratched decal and for more than $100. I immediately called and disputed that ANY damage was caused by me or was done while I had the truck. I was given the area manager's number. I called him and asked for the picture of the damage and again disputed that I had anything to do with it . Well, getting the picture took roughly 45 minutes to send vita text. In the meantime, I tried to recover the pictures I took of the returned vehicle from the U haul app. I realized that my phone saved the pictures right before recieving a picture of damage not caused by me. Something I immediately noticed about the pic sent to me, two days after mmt return, is that the building is different in the background. So, the truck had to be moved, probably by an employee. I sent my photo to the area manager and was only then told the charge would be reversed. When making accusations it is incumbent upon that person or employee to do the research, watch the cameras, do some investigation before arbitrarily charging someone. I made about 11 moves during a 25 year military career with Uhaul and never had any issues until this particular branch. It was just plain luck in this case that I took that picture but I learned my lesson. I will NOT rent from this Uhaul location again and shame on them for putting me in this position and not apologizing for it. Update: Received apology 2 hours after review was posted.
