Positive: The access of the beach is fantastic! We were also lucky to have a balcony too. The amount of luggage folks bring means there are tons of dents from luggage carts and sand everywhere. This rate is better than OBX North beaches (Corolla, Duck etc) Negative: The hotel had a pretty smart solution of having 1 elevator only going up to 1st floor (beach level) and then another elevator going to the rest of the floors to limit the sand. Unfortunately all of them were super slow.

The view was awesome and shower pressure was good. Staff was friendly. The hotel is old and in need of remodeling. The smell was musty, the beds were old and wore out. Had to go to the front desk to get more coffee, shampoo, etc. as they would not replenish room daily. WAY over priced and we will not be staying there again unless major maintenance gets done.

The front desk staff was very friendly and answered all our questions. They knew who we were when we arrived and called us by name. They made check-in and checkout very easy. Breakfast selection was good and the attendee was very nice. The rooms were clean. The balcony appeared to have been recently swept off which was good. This was a true ocean view room, no false advertising. Breakfast ends at 9:30. In all my years of travel I have never been to a hotel where breakfast ends at 9:30. That 30 mins. matters! I felt rushed to get downstairs to eat. Coffee was awful. There was a worker standing outside the door when we arrived. He then followed us to the front desk He kept interjecting in the conversation between us and the front desk clerk. He was creepy. The hotel was clean but a bit dated. Really just looked like a good coat of paint could do the job. Maybe the worker at the front desk could do that since it seemed as if he nothing to do.

I booked this room through Booking.com for my 23rd anniversary. I asked for Pet Friendly and Ocean View Room. Booked it and paid in Full over the phone. When I got there they switched rooms because they had me on the third floor which was not pet friendly. They didn't tell me that there was no ocean view from the room they switched me to. I found out this when I open the curtains the next morning to a building in front of the ocean view window. The drain in the tub was stopped up and it took at least 15 minutes for the water to get hot for the shower and another 20 minutes for the water to drain out of it. The online price for the room was $60.00 plus $20.00 for Pet Fee. They didn't tell me about the Service fees and other fees you have to pay. I got billed in the end for $156.47. for a room that was barely worth $60.00. I must admit the breakfast was very good and the employees were nice and friendly. Booking.com reimbursed me $14.99. That's it. I would not recommend booking through them and I will not stay here again. Ruined Anniversary for My wife and I.
