Older property but did have recent renovation and looks much better now. Some attention to minor details needed, plank walkway exterior on north side has exposed screw heads, not good on bare feet. Restaurant is back up to high standards as once was. Outside Tiki bar nice. Indoor pool, so a no sun event. Very pet friendly with designated rooms/floors, did hear some frustrated pups in rooms. The beach access is the best feature. Walking distance to some bars and eats along with fast food and beach equipment. Many close good eats drivable. Very family oriented, would recommend.

Vacation in the Outer Banks is off to a terrible start. We called the Ramada Plaza this morning and asked if we could have an early check in. They told us if our room was ready then no problem but if it wasn’t we could use the pool and beach access. They told us worse case scenario, our room will be ready at 4pm. No worries, we were happy to chill and wait until 4 pm. At 4, we were informed that our room was not ready and they were unable to give a timetable for check in. Finally got a room around 5 pm and it is infested with flies. We killed at least a dozen before leaving for dinner. Front desk told us they would take care of it. Came back from dinner and the room is still covered in flies. Disgusting. At 10pm my wife passed through the lobby and the front desk attendant asked if we still had flies in our room to which my wife replied, β€œyes, a lot of them.” The front desk attendant asked if we would like to have a fly swatter for the room. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ Unacceptable Ramada. Do better. I would look elsewhere if you want a comfortable stay at a hotel. I would have expected a lot more comfort for $250 a night. Hopefully it gets better from here.

My son has special needs and was being slightly loud and they were very kind and accommodating. From night time to morning staff, they had a positive attitude and consistency . They were super sweet and polite the entire time. I even needed a pack and play because we forgot ours at home, and they let us use one and extra pillows so in case my 2 year old rolled off the other bed . I would 1000% recommend for those with families. They offer a pool, hot tub, and a breakfast buffet for 10.95 a person.

Hotel was extremely clean (so important!) I mean even the fish tank in the lobby... pristine! Staff wasn't exactly what I would describe as "friendly", but not rude either. Maybe indifferent is the word? Anyway, the only annoying thing was that we were told when we made our reservation a few weeks ahead of time that we could simply ask for overview room when we checked in, like it was no problem at all. Then upon arrival we were told there were no ocean view rooms available (this was in November, hotel far from crowded) and that there would be a substantial "upgrade" fee if we wanted an ocean view, which no one mentioned before. Other than that, a nice place! Food in the on-site restaurant was good as well.
