I just had my wedding at Troll haven on June 26th, we also rented the castle for 3 nights as my wedding party were traveling from Montana an it was easier for us to arrive early an be prepared the best we could. Everyone loved the venue an the castle. Though it decided to be in the mid 90's that day all of a sudden it was completely magical. Sadly the water fountain was not turned on like we had hoped for our pictures and the gates were locked up so we couldn't venture down to the other pond easily in heels an a large dress. It was still very much amazing. I have previously stayed in the castle prior to my wedding an just absolutely love it!!! Amanda is amazing an quick to answer questions when needed. Sadly during pictures my phone was Mia an we were unable to contact her for help. Which is my fault... will definitely be back just to rent the castle an enjoy the scenery an quietness of the area!

Wow! Stumbled across this epic coolness by taking a wrong turn on a road trip!

I loved my visit to Troll Haven. This historic site is beautifully maintained outside and hold many wonderful and beautiful sights. The elegant castle, quirky carvings of trolls, dragons and other mythical creatures and the sprawling countryside landscape all combine to make for an unforgettable feast of sights. Unfortunately not all about my stay here was as magical. My friends had rented the venue for their all-out eclectic All Hallows Eve wedding, and the services (or lack thereof, more in point) provided by the staff upon our arrival and in response to our inquiries about simple things (like "What is the Wi-Fi password? Why isn't it written down in the guests handbook?") and apparently broken or at least inoperable amenities (like the beautiful jetted tub in the downstairs "dungeon" not functioning) we had not been notified weren't working, not even a posted sign on the fixtures in question, led to a disheartening and frustrating stay over the course of two days. This took away from our wedding party's enjoyment of this otherwise wonderful venue, notably. I've still rated Troll Haven a 4 out of 5, despite the poor communication from rental agents and lack of maintenance to fixtures, because, despite the failings, my visit here was still quite memorable and I came away with many great pictures and memories, as well as a couple disappointments. If the handful of minor issues could be addressed, or, at the very least made note of for potential renters (of this *NOT* inexpensive venue) so they do not have expectations of enjoying a nice jetted soak on their Honeymoon night, only to find a broken Jacuzzi tub, etc.. It would be a 5 out of 5 location for event hosting rental.

A really interesting place my parents have been taking me to just go look at for years. It's rural and quiet and super close to the water.

Hello, we have 200 acres.
You can just drive through, but you can also make reservations to stay there.
No you can't drive past fences that lead to residences or vacation rentals like the castle, but you are welcome to park and walk around and take photos of anything you wish.
Not without an appointment for a booking.. They do have public farmer's markets and events during the summer and fall months. Check out their website Trollhaven.org
I asked this a few years ago when we stayed at the castle. It was removed because it had become rotten on the inside and wasn't safe. I have a bad memory though so don't hold me to it
Contact them through there own website..for details and rentals
Go to trollhaven.org to view all events.
Yes it is you can drive right up to the gate
