Hi, Bought a 2005 Challenger Motorhome from Country Motorhome in Mt. Vernon. It only had 5,500 miles on it when I picked it up in April 2021 the interior was pristine like it had never been used, the exterior was in great shape also. The owner took my offer for $5,000 less than what he was asking for because the levelers were not working, that repair cost me $3,000. I know when you buy something used there isn’t any warranty implied, so buyer beware. So I left on a trip from Puyallup WA to Colfax WA, I did not make it very far, had a complete brake failure, and had to be towed to the nearest garage in North Bend, Washington. The brake job cost me another $3,000 including replacing the serpentine belt, and an oil change/filter. Also during that trip two of my tires blew out so had all six tires replaced at Les Schwab, in North Bend, Washington for $2760.00 which included the two six volt coach batteries that were completely dead, and the engine battery. I originally bought the coach for $35,000 but altogether now I am into it for $50,000. I feel that although the consignment shop has no responsibility for the condition of the coach, they should at least know if the coach is road worthy, after all my brake failure occurred going down a steep hill, at the bottom of the hill was a red light intersection with cars stacked up behind it. I was pedal to the metal and barley stopped only 3 feet from a small car in front of me. I was taken in by the low mileage and the condition that it appeared to be in. Should have had a mechanic look at it before buying because the owner would had to make it right before I bought it.
