Visited on 7/24/22 and a bridge was out on the way to the falls, just a heads up that you might get wet if you don't have good balance. Great trail with a rewarding waterfall at the end. Bring plenty of water, and get ready to burn some calories. It was not too busy when we went on the weekend. Several spots to camp along the trail as well.

It was good experience, but it’s terrible with kid below 5 years, since need to walk more than 4 miles to reach waterfall.

A great hike with various surroundings/terrain and plenty of wonderful views of the river. Waterfall is probably one of the best in Georgia. Pretty low level of elevation change for the majority, though start (coming back) and just approaching the falls are a bit strenuous. The length is more difficult than the hills in my opinion. Be prepared to finish strong. Storm damage is minimal at this point, see picture of posted warning. Several groups of varying ages and perceived fitness levels were on the trail. There are ~4 small water crossings. All totally doable. Be patient and look around for the best path before crossing. Waterproof boots would be handy. Have fun and be safe homies. Cheers!

I was told this was a great fishing spot by my brother in law... great place to hike if your ready for intermediate trails. Not so much for fishing. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time and caught two but it's a hike to get in and out of those ravines. Maybe I'll leave the waders at home next time so I don't worry about ripping them. Heck I'll be back even if only to hike that trail again. Be careful and have fun. Take some pics for me...

I went around the same time and the sign said that the trail was closed because of damage to the trail. It warned of possible fines, but i dont know how enforced it is. The east trailhead is not the greatest hike, but better than nothing.
Nope. There are no guides and no real establishment. There is a small parking lot with a day use fee. Take cash and put it in the envelope. If the parking lot is full (it is small) you can park on the road.
