Just finished the Winter session with Alex Simon and immediately signed up for the next session. I had been throwing clay for 30+ years in the SF Bay area and was looking for a ceramics community in Portland and have found it at Radius. Alex was an incredibly fun and talented instructor and was great at meeting people where they were in their potter journey. She gently pushed people to stretch their skills and take risks with their pieces. The staff at Radius is always welcoming and I also loved hanging with the furry mascots.

Jess Faulk is an incredible instructor and a talented artist. She is patient, kind, intelligent, and masterful at her craft. If you’re thinking about taking a pottery class, DO IT! My husband and I were a little nervous for it being our first time trying it out, but we couldn’t have had a better experience! Our instructor gave us the perfect amount of guidance and freedom to create what we wanted. Love this place and we will definitely be back!

I've taken two classes (drawing and painting) at Radius Art Studios--both from Jolyn--and they were the best art classes I've ever taken. I was super out of practice (it's been many a year since I picked up a pencil or paintbrush!), but Jolyn was very patient with me and struck a nice balance between giving general instruction to the whole class, and helping students individually. She really knows her stuff! Most importantly, Jolyn really encouraged and inspired me to get back into art, and make time for it in my life.
