Caught a few bluegill, a bass ate one of the bluegill off my line. It was chasing it while I was reeling it in. As soon as I tossed in back in he ate it in front of us. I should have listened to my ten year old and tried to catch it with the bluegill still on my line lol. Good time but the area we were at was pretty littered with fishing line etc. My kids were literally getting tangled/ tripping in it. We cleaned what we could before we left.

This is a beautiful setting for a relaxing morning or afternoon, even if you're not a fisherman. It's actually a good sized lake in it's own right, and I suppose is called a pond only by comparison to nearby Riffe Lake. There aren't any improvements, other than lakeside pullouts to park, a few trash cans, and a boat ramp - no restrooms or picnic tables, so be prepared. We took the kids for their first fishing experience, and they weren't disappointed, catching enough bluegill to get a taste for it. I also found a trail to the left of the small dam, leading down to Riffe Lake, which appears to be an old service road skirting the shoreline, although not close enough to actually see the water, but I did find a little side trail down to the water. I only walked about a mile, but it promised to continue along the lake, for an easy hike or mountain bike ride.

Beautiful area with flowings hills and a sea of green. The local people are very awesome. Very polite and respectful community.

This place was ok but not great. People leave their garbage behind instead of picking it up. This goes for fishing line, also. The good thing about it was I was there on a week day and there weren't many people there.

There's no camping out at Swafford Pond but there are a couple campgrounds close by.
It was a little slow. Sat out there all day and as I was getting ready to leave I caught one about 8". I go out more for the relaxation than anything. Watch the Eagles and Osprey. ******IF YOU GO OUT THERE, DISPOSE OF YOUR GARAGE PROPERLY, PLEASE******
There aren't any pike in Swofford pond as far as I know.
