Swing dance was fantastic, along with the big band that entertained us. Acoustics are kind of bad, but the fun energy was through the roof!

Great venue, great service for the wedding. They need to invest a bit in maintenance, maybe their roof. There are several patches on the ceiling with water marks and peeling paint.

Beautiful building full of interesting history that hosts swing dancing every other Friday to a live orchestra. Come early for dance lessons and stay late to make it a perfect evening filled with fun and good music. It can get quite warm, so dress appropriately. Duckpin bowling is also in the same building and a unique experience worth trying out at least once (don't worry if you are bad at bowling as the skills do not really translate). Plenty of free parking nearby is also a big plus to give you even one more reason (as if you needed it) to check out this neat place.

Beautiful room for a get together wedding reception, anniversary, etc. The decor and details are very elegantly done.

Yes, The Fountain Square Theater... has swing dance night every other Friday night.... it's awesome!!! The theater and dance Hall was built in 1928... when you step into the theater it's like stepping back into time!! I love this place... I guess that's why so many couples choose to have their Weddings there.
Not in our place staff at this time
There is new high speed WIFI throughout all our venues including the Theatre. They only need to ask their event coordinator if they are getting married here.
The lessons are beginner orriented. I taught there before and my parter and I started from bouncing to the music (the beat is kind of important haha), how to hold/touch your partner, to actually partner dancing. Every teaching pair teaches slightly differently. Also, go in expecting to rotate partners. Its a social dance and you have more fun when interacting with others. Also, you get better faster too! Oh, going in with a "im new at this and will get better slowly" attitude is helpful. Ive been taking lessons for dancing 10 years and will always keep improving.
They don't have parking right outside. You have to go to a lot down the street
Parking is FREE in Fountain Square. Public Parking Lots are available at the corner of Shelby and Morris Street behind the Forte building, as well as a smaller public lot on Woodlawn Avenue, between Virginia Avenue and Shelby Street.
