For a community grocery store, my neighbors and I sure don't see much support for the surrounding community. Now that maybe because its located in the next town over and any contribution to the community was simply overlooked. Though in the past multitude of fundraisers I've embarked upon, solely to benefit the local public school, this specific QFC store was not a helpful resource. The store manager actually went as far as to tell my volunteers not to hand out the school fundraiser flyers in the store or in the parking lot. The Manager also forbade us from leaving any flyers at the check-out stands as optional for customers to pursue on their own initiative. To be honest, the prices are a bit high as well, much to high for a low income area such as the one inwhich the store sits. All of the afore mentioned from a store the claims support for its community regularly. When owned by the Reeds family, the store unequivocally supported the community. Since becoming a corporate QFC store I haven't observed any real commitment from the store management to the community that impressed me or anyone that I know.
