Best Western Plus Zion West Hotel

Good location for Zion. Room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool area in the evening after spending the day in the National Park. Breakfast was tasty (and free) so that was a huge plus for us, setting us both up for a day at the Park. Only issue was the front staff lady who checked us in - she kept her earphones in while talking to us (made us feel like we were being a real bother to her) and sighed loudly when I asked her to repeat how we got to the pool.

This place was awesome! We enjoyed the pool, clean room and bathroom and our favorite part of our stat was breakfast. The kitchen staff is amazing, the chef surprised us each day with something new and it was so very delicious. The breakfast is complementary, btw. I definitely recommend this hotel for your Zion adventure stay!

Dissapointed. Overall this appears to be a nice hotel outside but inside shows a lack of consistent upkeep and maintenance. Rooms were small and stuffy. The fridge in our room was not sized properly for the cabinet so the cabinet door would not close all the way and stuck out in the walkway at the foot of the beds. When this was brought to the front desk's attention their solution was for us to try and pull the whole cabinet out so the fridge could be pushed back. The bathroom tub was clearly older fiberglass that they tried to make nicer with a stone veneer wall covering except they just slathered caulking between the joints and it looks very bad. There were several patches in the hallway carpets that were poorly done and looked very bad. Several of the doors had bent or damaged handles and the maintenance room door was just left open. Also a side door was taped to stay open so anyone could just come and go into the hotel without a key card. Lastly the pool is not heated so this time of year would be brisk at best. The breakfast selection was typical but the fruit was almost rotten with plenty of blck spotted bananas for everyone. For the price I would suggest finding a different option or a bed and breakfast.

Alright so, I’ve given the hotel an opportunity to make stuff right here but they have “solved the problem” by taking 10% off the room rate. I checked in today with my significant other and we booked the jetted tub room. First off the front desk clerk was on her phone, and seemed put out that I wanted to check in. Assuming she’s just having a bad day we went up to our room. Where we found/ stepped on a exposed carpet tack strip with a rusty nail! Dude really! When I called the front desk they said they had no other rooms that had the tub, which I paid for and is important to us, and offered a 10% discount off the room. I reached out to Best Western corporate and hopefully they can help us a bit more. I now have a injured foot, on my engagement trip, and the possibility of having to get a tetanus shot. Maybe their maintenance people should be better caring for the rooms. Oh, on top of this we had a house keeper just walk into the room randomly today, no knocking, no anything just walked right in. Like seriously!
