Very neat local outdoors store. I love stopping in to check out gear and browse around. There's not too many local sporting goods stores left, and it's very nice to see one as well organized and managed as Brown's. It's not a huge store, but they use to space well to stock pretty much everything you'd likely need. I especially appreciate that they stock a very good supply of maps. Staff are always friendly and able to help out if you need anything.

I love Brown's. It is a great local camping store with high end products and a commitment to the look hiking community. I bought my first Gregory pack here in 2003. I buy mountain house and backpacker pantry meals, headlamps, local topographic maps (of Olympic National Park), gas for my stoves, clothing, shoes, socks, bear spray, nalgenes and water filtration systems. I bought my Katadyn charcoal filter here in 2004, but now use a Sawyer system from here. The staff is always helpful and very informed.

We had been shopping for weeks for good quality hiking boots that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Our neighbors asked if we had shipped at Brown's Outdoors and we had not. We were greeted warmly by several staff members. We were impressed by the man who helped us. He asked what our NEEDS were and wait for it...he actually listened to us and made excellent recommendations based on our needs. Bottom line, we walked out with our new boots and they fit so well that my hubby wore them out of the store and all day because they fit so well😊
