We were in town for a wedding at the Mountain Creek Resort and this was a great alternative place to stay without breaking the bank at the resort. Matthew was very welcoming and even stayed up late to wait for us when we checked in later than we intended. They are renovating the rooms one-by-one and we stayed in the cutest motel room I've ever seen: it was 1950's themed and was very nicely renovated! (Excited for your exterior renovation soon!) Overall this place was clean, safe, and affordable, and if we ever find ourselves in the countryside of New Jersey again we will be sure to stay here.

What a fantastic motel. Seriously. I was happier with my room here than I was at a Holiday Inn. This motel is family run, and that gives it a charm most chains lack. I only stayed one night, but in that night I got personalized service, a room that was cold and ready to go, and one of the owners remembered my name when I was checking out. I spent $90 to get a king sized bed, HDTV, and a fridge for the night in a pretty prime location. I hope to be back to visit again soon.

This is a great place to stay and not just because of how inexpensive it is. Like many others have said, the staff is extremely friendly. The room I stayed in was decent, very good for the price, and had a big TV with cable. It was also very clean, which means a lot to me. If you're staying in the area and don't want to stay at one of the expensive resorts, I can't recommend Sussex Motel enough.

The Sussex Motel is a diamond in the rough for those looking for an affordable, decent quality, comfortable stay. The motel maintains a classic, cozy Americana vibe, nestled conveniently right off the highway in the New Jersey countryside. The room I stayed in gave a sense of grandeur with its King size bed, high ceilings, and large windows on the northeast and northwest walls. The room has nice upgrades as well— a large flat screen TV, a mini fridge, and a cute vintage style microwave. There also is a big wardrobe closet in the far corner which is good fengshui to keep the energy in the room and not entirely flowing out the windows. There’s a shaggy carpet flooring which is nice and warm to walk on. The bathroom is clean and stylish with the original tiles and a ceramic shower tub. This room made a great getaway for an overnight stay after a full day of skiing close by. We reheated a meal we prepared in advance using the microwave, picked up a nice bottle of wine next door, and watched prime time TV before drifting off to bed. The service is outstanding too! The new management takes great lengths to make sure the guest are well taken care of. I look forward to staying at the Sussex more again in the future.
