So I waited a while before posting because I was taught that if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. I know many people don't follow that, but I'm comfortable with it. I've never been here before but have always been curious. I was in the mood for breakfast for dinner. The place was clean and the staff was nice. Food looked good and I got something simple - blueberry pancakes with scrapple (which was nicely thick cut), and hot chocolate. For me, there simply wasn't any taste to the food. Pancakes were really dry and syrup didn't help - they just had no taste. Neither did the scrapple. Hot chocolate was good though! Hubby had more: blueberry pancakes with strawberry topping, over-easy eggs and bacon. We've had great dinner food before, this just didn't make up for us so we probably will not be returning.

Went to the Route 40 Diner just now--we love this place for consistently good breakfast. When we entered, we considered leaving because the usual buzz of busy and efficient servers was quiet with just 3 people in front of house and a dining room full of customers. We stayed and were extremely glad we did. I'm not sure if servers called out or weren't scheduled but the service was solid, the food was as expected and everyone was friendly. Great job!

If I could give a zero star I would! We used to come here often for breakfast they even know us by name. I had stomach surgery so I eat small now. I ordered two kids meals one for me and one for my 4 yr old. The supervisor said I can’t have a cheeseburger off the kids menu because it’s the same serving size an adult size which surprises me but okay makes my point….why do you want to charge me $12 for an adult meal that I will only take a couple bites out of and not finish my drink either because that is too much too instead of $7 for the kids meal? It seemed so wrong and only about the money! I mean let’s say I wanted chicken fingers they would force me to buy the adult size instead of the kids size which is 3! This is wrong! We will not be returning and all the other people who have had stomach surgery this is not the restaurant for you they do not care if you are over 10! I can not stand money hungry people.

Absolutely horrible. I'm here from out of town for a class and found this diner on Google maps. Reviews and pics looked good for breakfast. Nope. Pancakes were chewy like they were made yesterday and reheated. Syrup? Nope, it's not syrup it's brown colored corn syrup (Kraft syrup packet, reading that from the ingredients). Butter? Nope, looks like whipped lard or something, but it's not butter. Scrambled eggs were half cooked. If you love your breakfast stay away from here. When paying the bill (to my server) she asked how everything was. I replied, "Less than mediocre". She didn't respond or ask what was wrong. Shows they don't care.
