Holiday Inn Express Neptune, an IHG Hotel

I’m willing to overlook the computer issues causing a delay in checking in. However, what really ruined the stay was the air conditioner in the room was not working properly. I have two young kids so switching rooms would have been a pain. So in the morning I told the front desk and he put it on the log book. There were only two or three jobs listed for the day for the maintenance man who was coming in at 10 AM. My family and I left for the day and we came back around 7 PM the room was not cool. The maintenance guy didn’t even come and look at the air conditioner. The windows didn’t even open so I could at least get a breeze in the room. Again switching wasn’t really an option at this point because my kids were passed out asleep from the busy day. Needless to say the next time I’m back here I will not stay at this hotel. I do want to note, the front desk staff was great.

So it's summer at the shore season... the hotel was packed. Room rated were predictably higher than average and the staff was struggling to keep up with the immature guests. But over all the rooms were clean the staff was friendly and the location was great. Love the 30 second walk through the woods to get to the WaWa :)

Positive: The staff is very helpful and the hot breakfast is something nice to wake up to. Negative: The hotel was not very busy, but I was assigned a room that faced the highway. This was unnecessary when there were many rooms facing the rear of the building that were much quieter.

It was a convenient location and I’ve stayed at this chain of hotels many times for work. I have never had any complaints. The staff was very kind and friendly. I took pictures of the bed when I walked in. It looked as if someone had been laying on it, pillows propped up and all. The carpet on one side was soaked and had a strong mildewy odor to it. The bathroom fan was on and there was a hand towel off to the side as if someone used it. There was a pair of old socks on the ground by the trash can. The shower curtain was torn in 4 spots and barely functional. The smell was the worst, but I was there on business and I was exhausted. The only reason I did not request to move rooms.
