You can always apply for your own financing so you can see what rates you get when you do it yourself. That way you can do some realistic planning as to what kind of car you can buy. It should also consider whether you want to buy a used car at all. Maybe leasing is the way to go because the maintenance hassles are not your hassles as they will be with a used car. I have bought used cars and have had good results depending on the model and make of the vehicle but I've also been surprised with bills going up to $4,000. If you are a young person and you're not the type who wants to drive the same car for 10 years, then leasing is viable option for you. Whatever you decide good luck.
