Love this place! , surrounded by nature! Weekends are busy, as expected. Weekdays are so peaceful! Electric hookups only; potable water fill and dump station are on site.

I go kayaking there. It's a small lake but it's close and the shores are shallow with plenty of shade and fish. I talked to a older couple who told me in 72 when hurricane Agnes came thru, the dam was almost spilling over the top. They also told me it used to have a beach a lifeguard and swimming was allowed.

Loved this place! Pretty lake, and nice green grass. We were located right by the office. Nice guy said it was the most level space in the park. We stayed 3 nights. Traveled to Elmira one day to check out Mark Twain gravesite, and his study where he wrote his books was moved to the Elmira College campus. The college had beautiful old buildings from the 1800s. There are some really pretty homes around that area as well. Then we went to Niagara Falls the next day. It took 2 1/2 hrs, but it would have taken a lot longer if we took the trailer with us, and the gas would have been so expensive. The campgrounds are more expensive out there too. It was the right decision for us. You should try The Village Cafe in Arkport while you're here, the fried fish, breaded steak, and seafood bisque was delicious. Would definitely stay here again. It was so easy to register, and only $25 a night.

The park trail intertwines with the Finger Lakes Trail and is a moderate hike with rolling changes in elevation as you Trek around the lake. Nice place to walk your canine. Please practice leave no trace.

I think the caretaker is given 2 days off, probably including Wednesday, and that he doesn't necessarily stay onsite those days. Call (607) 590-0535 during regular business hours (9 am-5 pm?).

The flyer from 2018 says there is a $10 charge for non campers. Calling to check would be your best bet.
