When I was homeless, the community house was my personal safe house. Physical abuse is was unacceptable at that time in my life. I personally stayed there several times over a short period. Rich was in charge during my stay. When I broke rules, I was disciplined, properly and no matter what I felt I needed at that time, I know in my heart that the Community House on Broadway has evolved as a major asset to Cowlitz County. They are continuing to do more. I see it. Thank you. You saved my life.

They have to facilities one for able-bodied people and one for people with major disabilities they do their best to serve their whole community and they have now adopted a holistic approach to homelessness by offering different types of coaching such as employment housing drug and alcohol and mental health

If I could, it would be at a -10 star review. This place will end up either stressing a person to hospitalization or tear a family apart. Where to begin... Rules. That's a damn joke. They only apply when the staff feels like enforcing them, and on whomever they hate. Someone can be doing one thing and can get away with it but someone else will either get a write-up or exited. Staff. There really is only two staff members that aren't bad. Everyone else...another joke. You can go to staff with a serious complaint about a person, and they log it and let it go. But someone else who has ties to staff can complain about someone just because they don't like them or are jealous, and that person gets in instant trouble. They assign you a case manager when you come in and basically kiss your privacy good bye. The case managers are supposed to work with you on what you want to do, what you need to do. But nope. They basically say "here's what you are going to do, no ifs ands or buts about it, and if that's not what you want to do, maybe you should leave," because ya know, they know you better than you know yourself! Any and all doctor appointments review forms go directly to them. All of your medication is locked up and you can only get it at certain times. You're told if you have a problem with a staff member, feel free to write a grievance. Don't bother. They get thrown away and you get in trouble. My fiancee wrote one, they used it against him and he was exited. Misc. It says "family services," but in actuality, they cater to drug users and alcoholics. Never mind the poor family who lost their jobs and home and are trying to get back in their feet. Or the mother who is running from domestic violence. The ones in for drug or alcohol recovery get chance after chance, yet everyone else gets treated more harshly. Oh and the food!! One word: EXPIRED. Overall...it might be better sleep on the streets than to stay here. The people running it...shouldn't be. Give it to someone else who will see things fairly and work with people, not just for a paycheck.

Or like myself and husband, we we placed in 2 rooms side by side because we have kids we have open access to each others rooms.
Hello! Please contact the front desk at Community House to inquire about rooms. They will be more than happy to assist.
They do take clothes of all sizes. As long as they're in decent repair. Any and all help. Including under garments, infants, as well as up coming school clothes. Bath towels and toiletries are a great addition. Personal hygiene and feminine things are a plus. Diapers are another big one! From new born up. Thank you so much for thinking of the many people who are at the community house!!!
Nope
It's only supposed to be a 90 day stay anyways
No
They let you stay only if you lived locally for over 6 months with a vallet ID and they also run a background check and a warrant check
That's Jim for you
