Recreated fort and trading post. It's a picturesque and quiet spot. If you like the slower contemplative Pave I suggest a midweek visit. Interpreters on site are friendly and informative. Definitely plan on chatting awhile with them - you'll learn a lot. Beautiful site on the river. I think coming on one of their event days would be a lot of fun.

Wonderful time with the family. So much great living history. The living history actors were very knowledgeable and nice. The museum was great!

Great reconstruction of the original fort utilizing the original foundations that they could find. The employees there were extremely knowledgeable and personable! The museum also is a wealth of knowledge! Definitely a great experience!

Very nice reconstruction of an early 1800's western frontier fort. I was there on a day when some reenactors were demonstrating period cooking and food preservation. Well worth your time!
