So I'm on a quest to try out all of the steakhouses in the Chicagoland area and tonight, I opted for the big chain restaurant, Texas Roadhouse. Having actually been to roadhouses in Texas, I was curious to see how this place measured up. First, any self respecting (and by "self respecting," I mean "not afraid to voice their - usually disdainful - opinion") Texan would go on at length about how no steaks in the midwest could possibly measure up to steaks in the lone star state. Joke's on them! I ordered filet medallions with peppercorn sauce and they tasted just as good as any steak I ever had in Texas, that's a fact. Actually, they were so good, I completely forgot about the sauce until the steak was gone! I also had a house salad (nothing unusual, it was fine) and green beans. The green beans were much tastier and not the typical soggy bland beans one usually receives in most restaurants. Last but not least, my server was wonderful. I'm so mad I didn't get her name because she worked really hard to make sure I was well cared for. I felt really bad for her because the group next to me made a huge mess and only left her a $1 tip so I made sure to give her a 40% tip on my own bill to help offset the other party's rudeness. But I digress. Thanks for the great meal and service, Texas Roadhouse - I'll be sure to recommend you to others in the area!

First off, I want to start off by saying our sever was amazing and that is why I’m post 3 stars. This was our first time here. We read a review saying to add our self to the waiting list so we did and our table was ready upon arrival. We were seated but never given plates or silverware. We finally received it when our entree came. It took a long time for our starter and entree to get to the table, especially the starter. The portion size of the food was great but the steak could of had a little more flavor. The atmosphere here is pretty great.

I may have went in higher expectations than I should have for a theme steakhouse - I was disappointed by the lack of flavor of the actual cut of meat. It was tender though. The sides were plentiful but really wet. The corn looks great in the picture- once you ate the top layer, the rest swims in liquid...and not buttery liquid either. The gravy drowned the mashed potatos and left a slightly bitter? taste. The sweet rolls that we were seated with were warm & sweet. Not a fan of the cinnamon butter- doesn't make sense to my taste buds to add sweet with sweet.

1st time visiting, very pleasant experience. Called ahead to be put on the waiting list, so once we pulled into the lot we didn't have to wait more than 40 seconds to get seated. Had two Margaritas, both of them as big as a softball, sweet and tasty. Knew I shouldn't have ordered the combination appetizer platter, but loved the rattlesnake bites regardless. The 14 oz rib eye was very juicy and tender. Ordered it medium rare but it was probably a little closer to medium. Not a big deal, still very tasty. Waitress was very attentive and kind to my friend and I, And the dining room was packed even at 5 o'clock, clearly this place is still a favorite watering hole even after the pandemic has calmed down. No more peanuts on the floor however, I guess that era has come and gone for this franchise. It might be a chain but at least they have their ducks in a row, the whole experience lasted about an hour and we left too full to walk in a straight line. Fair warning, Perhaps skip the appetizers if you are ordering just for yourself, they are shareable and calorie-dense. I managed to finish my meal but just barely and now I need a nap. Nice folks, good service.
