Positive: Nice size rooms at a good price. Negative: They have signs everywhere about how detailed they are with respect to cleaning, yet the floor was filthy -- there were even food containers below the bed (how do you clean a floor and not look under the bed??).

Reason I chose Extended Stay is because they have a functioning kitchenette - however, this kitchenette came without utensils, which are available upon request (one pot, one pan, one dish, one bowl, one glass, two spoons, two forks, two butter knives, one sharp knife, and a can opener). There are two issues with this - 1) it may seem enough, but isn't, and (2) utensils were quite filthy (and so was the kitchen sink). I used them as I didn't have a choice; but would have preferred not to use them at all. Another issue with the place is that it smelled like mold. My daughter, who is highly allergic to mold, wasn't able to breathe in the room due to which we had to leave our reservation within a few hours of check-in. With that said - I will give Extended Stay Elmhurst credit for refunding us back for one-day. I had booked a non-refundable room for 2-nights. As I wasn't able to stay there due to possible mold or some other allergen issues, they refunded for the night I did not use their property. I couldn't thank the property enough for doing that, as they could have easily asked me to honor the non-refundable rate paid to them. Their empathy is the reason I gave them one extra star, or else, I would have given this property two stars only.

Arrived late on Monday 3/7. Upon entry the lobby smelled strongly of freshly burnt marijuana. There was a sign indicating the clerk was away with another guest. After waiting 5 mins a young woman comes out of the back office and says “I need your ID”. Without making any eye contact whatsoever she checked us in with an attitude of boredom and irritation. While she may have been going through something in her personal world, her behavior made us feel that we were inconveniencing her. I came down to ask a question about our TV and after waiting sometime I set my keys down to try calling. She must gave heard my keys so she yelled from the back “just a minute”, after a few mins she came out and again it felt as though Id interrupted her personal time and space. Tuesday morning no smell in lobby polite staff. Tuesday night we return late from work, same strong smell of weed and no one at the desk. This morning no smell and incredibly kind staff who we voiced our concerns to, it seemed she knew exactly who we were talking about. Aside from our experience with The Clerk, the hotel itself is just okay. Uncomfortable bed, poor water pressure and a bit out of date were the top complaints. However the layout of the room and its amenities were nice for a longer term stay. Will try out another Extended Stay location, I assume the poor quality of service we received is isolated to only a few individuals.

The place and the front desk is great, especially since there’s a kitchen. HOWEVER, why the hell is house keeping trying to wake me up at 9 A.M. in the morning to kick us out for housekeeping. I especially would assume if someone is checking out at 11 a.m., they would do the room afterwards. They must be new, seriously. I also wanted to sleep in. I would hope staff would tell them next freaking time to not disturb people in the room BEFORE 11 a.m, especially since this place doesn’t have do not disturb/ house keeping needed signs. On the plus side, we had the reservation today, but came a day before because we wanted to stay here earlier. The front desk said we would have to come back the next day to check in the room again, though it is a bit odd since I’m still the same person, I just want an extra day before, but at the same time the reservation is dated for the next day. It STILL doesn’t give housekeeping the right to kick us out of the room BEFORE 11 A.M. I forgot to mentioned before after hearing several knocks eventually trying to wake us up, they did try to open the door. That’s when I had to run out of bed and tell them that we actually had another night.

Wow not really sure but I would think the maids took your stuff. They can't return items if they say they don't have them

Are you pet friendly
