We wanted to get to Galena early Friday and depart late Saturday afternoon. We arrived very late with a loaner after a breakdown. I went ahead and booked a second night’s stay. We took the two bottles of water provided and with one we made morning coffee. When I asked for more water we were told that there were only two bottles per stay. The website shows the water is included in the resort fee. I showed the staff, including its auditor that the website shows this to be a ‘per day” inclusion. I asked if my usage of the Fitness Center and Shuttle Service were once per stay. I was told no. I was annoyed that the staff was so poorly trained that this was the best they could offer to resolve this conflict. BTW if the daily resort fee is mandatory why not included it in the daily rate? The room was clean as was the restaurant. The room is dated and not worth $200/ night. I will not stay here again. You'll be asked to pay the following charges at the property: Resort fee: USD 20 per accommodation, per night. It includes:Fitness center access/Shuttle service/In-room bottled water/Additional inclusions (we never figured out what this meant)

Large, nice, room. Beautiful, ornate interior. Lobby very nice. Nice touch was tea in the afternoon with biscuits and scones. Very clean. Nice gift shop with Irish items to purchase. Decent continental breakfast. Loved the restaurant and bar area! Unfortunately there us only music on the weekend. Food was authentic and plentiful. Bartender was wonderful!!

We have stayed at Irish Cottage over 20 times. This year we were a little disappointed. When you walk in the foyer looks likes a leather chair show room. Not the friendly warm greeting we were used to at desk. Always bought something at gift shop, but seemed there were only “I❤️ Galena” T-shirts we can get anywhere. The room was very clean however the towels were unraveling and very thin. Dinner Friday night was delicious and staff very nice and we had great service. Very disappointed to have plastic and paper drinking glasses. I asked for glass but was told it was a busy weekend. $9 for a drink in small plastic cup full of ice, What happen to the Irish breakfast? Cold eggs, greasy bacon and baked beans. The apple I had was uneatable. Although both days we had to wait for scones, they were good. Had to wait for silverware and plates both mornings and the plates were wet from dishwasher. Grown men snd woman in pajamas at breakfast, although I know you might have trouble controlling that. . Overall just did not feel as warm and “Irish” friendly as it used to. I talked to several other guests who felt that it used to be better place. Entertainment was very good Overall just a little disappointed, especially because we brought 2 other couples and we have been raving about it for years. Having said all that, we will probably go back, as it has always been a special place for us. Hoping things get better!

Just spent the weekend there with my husband and friends, The room and property were very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Entertainment in the bar area was top notch with Irish song and dance, the bag pipers were really great. Food and drink were very good, and the buffet breakfast was a plus. We will certainly be back.

I didn't see dogs there but do not know the answer. There is a nice grassy back yard and trail that would be great for walking a dog.
