This is 1 of many Stores operated by Andy and Helga Beechum.. Dairy Queen was gifted a great family when they welcomed this family to their club. Meghan served me and my 2 yr old yesterday in shallotte store and it brings back my memories of working for Andy and Helga when I was only 16 yrs old and the experience was as great today as it was 20 yrs ago.. Thanks Andy for keeping up the hard work and the great employees for so many years. And me and my brother James Blackwell send our love and thoughts to you and your mom. A true family owned and operated local business and it's a blessing to see y'all still doing Great decades down the road. 20 star rating wouldn't be enough to cover the class and charisma of serving Ice Cream to us daily. Used to love this location, but received rude service when I questioned why they accepted my wife's $2 small blizzard coupon (on the DQ app) but wouldn't accept mine. My wife's blizzard, BTW, was delivered to her without the full, customary upside down display (the employee tilted it then slid it across the counter) and was only 80% full. I waited for the "manager" to arrive on site and was told they don't have to participate in the app discount codes and really didn't care to lose my business because the same person owns all the area DQs in two counties and would get my business somewhere else. The employees & manager had many other excuses for their refusal to honor the DQ app coupon code and their general rudeness; too much BS from them to list here.

I love Dairy Queen and what they have is pretty good. My only complaint is that my favorite treat since I was little is a Mister Misty Float, I have went to this store multiple times in the last couple years at least could be three years and they say their machine is broken. The last time I was there about 2 weeks ago of course my first question was do you have the float? To no surprise The girl says no. There was another customer standing close by and said “they never have it. “in the girl behind the counter replied “this time they are really trying to fix it they sent the machine off to get fixed” so we will see.
