I'm giving them a 4 because I'm not sure which one I'm rating as we went to at least 8 different Dollar General stores. Some of which were in need of floors being cleaned ( clothes, toys, etc in the middle of the floors. Boxes & heavy carts/racks with stuff to be opened & put on the shelves we're blocking slot of shelves, while some had bathrooms the were very dirty& no soap, paper towels, or toilet tissue. ) Employees at all store we're very friendly, courteous and willing to help.

This store location, while the aisles are always congested and messy with product on certain aisles piled and disheveled, happens to be more organized and accessible than many of the other “$” stores in the region. Apple Pay never works and often the card reader customer kiosk doesn’t not work either. I the past you could get cash back while making a purchase with a debit card with no extra convience charge.

I go to this one almost daily. Ive always had a good experience when shopping here, cashiers have always been very friendly. One in particular, a woman (wish I remembered her name) is very sweet and personable.. she interacts with all the children that come in the store.. she remembers customers names, always so helpful and goes out of her way to help with coupons, products, if your child is screaming bc you said no to bubble gum lol. Store isnt the newest and the selection is not as large as the newest locations but still prefer this one.

**EDIT—- Apparently the manager I was referring to is no longer there as of 3 weeks ago. Hopefully the newest manger will bring this store back up to par. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to update my review soon to reflect that. ** I used to enjoy shopping in this store (for years). However, I’ve noticed a BIG decline in the cleanliness and hospitality of the staff. The store is always cluttered, under stocked, and there aren’t typically enough staff on duty to check you out in a timely manner. Also, they seem to be rude or bothered about something all the time. The new manager is impolite and pushy in her demeanor. I used to look forward to shopping in this location... that is no longer the case. The manager who was there for years (prior to the new one) really kept the store in terrific shape. He cared about his customers and it really showed in his interactions with the public. I don’t know what ever happened to him but I wish he were still there! I used to think that the Dollar General in Dunn was the worst but now the Erwin location is giving it competition in that department. I hope that the head honchos see this and get to action. It’s really a shame what has become of this store.
