very nice, friendly staff. they kindly honored an expired free exam coupon, and overall the prices for most things seem reasonable compared to similar places. i didn't like having to wait in the waiting room instead of going back & being with my pet during the exam & immunizations. maybe this is common practice now as i haven't owned a pet in many years. regardless, i'm not a fan of this policy and will likely use another facility in the future that allows parents to be present with their pets. they could also use more educational material - for example, new pet packets with FAQs on nutrition, oral care, immunization schedule, etc.

I have so much to thank VCA silver lake for. My dog Boon had been here a couple times for maintenance care over the last 2 years and we always had a good experience. He got really sick about a month ago and we took him in. They referred us to the emergency vet to get more extensive testing and we found out that our sweet boy had randomly developed severe non-regenerative anemia. We got him on medications to see if anything could make a difference and took him in to see Dr. Kalra to do weekly blood tests and make sure our boy was doing ok. Dr. Kalra was so amazing. Professional, yet sympathetic and comforting. He kept things straight forward with us and genuinely cared about our sweet Boon. He’d call to check in, and he even stayed after hours one night when we needed to rush him in for an anti-vomiting medication. When it came time, he was there for us and made Boon’s final moments comfortable for all of us. It was the hardest month of my life and the hardest decision to make to have him put down, but Dr. Kalra assured us that it was what was best for Boon and he wouldn’t be hurting anymore and he made a really hard time just a little bit easier. We miss our boy so much and we are eternally heartbroken, but we find comfort in knowing he had the best care possible. We look forward to bringing any future pups to VCA and Dr. Kalra ❤️

My little boy Sam was attacked by another dog while hiking and got an infection from it. I brought him here and they took care of him and he make a full recovery! The front desk ladies, the finance lady and the vet, Sarah Mantovani were all awesome, knowledgeable and professional. Sam was so dramatic but they were able to give him proper care and I really appreciate them. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of a vet tech named Deanna Knight. She's not very friendly, and doesn't seem like she even likes her job. The worst part was when I brought him in for her to check the drain they put in his neck to drain the infection, he panicked like I've never seen him before. He would have chewed off his own leg to get away from her. I don't know what goes on behind closed doors, but its hard for me to trust someone when my dog freaks just at the sight of her. Other than that, I'll just bring him in, on her days off in the future. I'm not going to let that ruin this place for me because it's a really awesome facility and its such a blessing that they let me fill out a promissory note. Much love to you guys ❤❤
