I have never stayed here, but I've dumped my tanks there twice, both times on a Sunday when the office is closed. The box that allows us to pay even when the office is closed is a great touch. $14.02 last time to dump.

Beautiful hair salon and tanning bed are available at this RV park, located just at the southern end of Socorro. I recommend this as a stop when passing through Socorro, as there are gifts available and friendly owners to assist you. I can't go on enough about how friendly and kind the owner, Katherine, and her daughter, Catalina, are. You really feel welcome in their darling hair salon and gift shop, I can only imagine how the Rv campers must be treated, like royalty, I am guessing! It is definitely an elite place to rent a space for a few days and nights in your RV! * ( don't forget to tip !) Update: Catalina is no longer cutting and styling hair, but Anisha is taking her place and is truly awesome at her craft!

Judging by the office, this is an old KOA. Spots have decent separation. But there are a lot of prickers, our poor dog. No dog park, no grass. Several permanent residents. One guy was yelling last night, and this morning the yelling continued, along with the guy stomping around, picking up two pretty big rocks which he took into his trailer. A bit later, the police were there. We had paid for two nights, but left after one night as we did not feel safe.

PROS: Sites are level and reasonably wide. Dump station is low enough for our 20', not raised, trailer. Lady who checked us in was nice (although the office was still closed when we left around 10:30 am Sunday). Very quiet despite being right by the main hwy. They have a campground cat. CONS: There is only bathroom, with a toilet, sink and shower in one room. That did not bother us; we showered both mornings we were there. The first day no one else wanted to get in while we were in it, but the second day two people tried to unlock the door (it has a deadbolt, so no embarrassing intrusion). They were nice about waiting. The park was not busy at all, though, so it could be a problem other times. This appears to be an old KOA, which would have originally had decent- sized men's and women's restrooms. That space seems to be taken by the beauty shop. There is a pool, dry in early April; not sure if it is open later in the year. SUMMARY: Good for a couple nights while visiting the area, especially if you are self-contained. The Bodega Burger Co. in town is a nice restaurant with good food.

Yes. Not a bad place for an overnight. No grass areas for walking dogs tho. Just gravel & parking lots!
