A well-designed ferry terminal with plenty of parking for walk-on customers. A small food purveyor, souvenir shop and restrooms are all located on-site. The beautiful location is the perfect departure point for numerous PNW islands. It's a terrific way to start off any island exploration.

For the first time it was a great experience. I was going to make a reservation but called the customer service number and was advised not too. I decided to leave my house around 1am to get here around 4 am. So in can be one of the first here. The lines were already being formed at that time for Anacortes to orcas island. I do believe the can work in the prices for the ferry. I believe it is expensive.

The wait to board was not long and the ferry across to orcas island was a Beautiful trip it cost 197 dollars for under 30 foot motorhome and 2 passengers we didn't have reservations and waited in the stand by lane I think it's a good idea to make reservations we will next time.

Not the greatest in efficiency, but most of the staffing tries to be helpful. If you miss a ferry it's a long wait for next boat. You can leave and come back, but make sure to ask for a "pass" for getting back in line. Plan to be at terminal 2-hrs ahead or more of sailing time. There is minimal service for food or drinks at terminal. Also, to kill time there is a nice walking path that goes to beach.

Yes. Parking is available for pickup and drop off limited to 15 min. Buy walk on tickets in the terminal. Signage displays the above.
Yes, but the dogs (and their owner) are supposed to stay on the outside decks.
Prices vary for walk on, vehicle, size of vehicle, passengers, destination and time of year. Go to www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/fares/ This has all the information you will need.
AFTER finding a parking place, you should be walking towards the waiting room/ticket booth at least 20 minutes before the scheduled sailing.
There is a parking lot right at the terminal where walk on. If you want to be as close as you can...that is the lot you want to check out first...follow the main road in till you can only turn left into the lot. Also...be prepared to pay for parking with a CC or Pay by phone app as there isnt always an attendant on duty
There are three parking lots near the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. RVs, unoccupied (up to 24 hours) $20 Calendar month permit - $90 plus tax Season permit (5/1 - 9/30) $356.63
You are two reservation ferry rides away, you will have to get a reservation at Port Townsend as well. Go to the Washington State Ferry page on Washington dept of transportation web site. If you can't get a reservation at port Townsend you can drive to Kingston then drive north to Anacortes. If you are near Port Angeles it will take 45 minutes to Port Townsend or about 1hr 15 minutes to Kingston but you don't need reservations there, ferries run about every 40 to 50 minutes so if you miss one you will likely get on the next. Without a reservation at Port Townsend you could be stuck for quite some time trying to get to Coupeville. From Edmonds to Anacortes takes about an hour and a half, Coupeville to Anacortes is 45-55 minutes depending on Traffic.
Prices vary by length. Plan on $200 or more.
Contact Washington State Department of Transportation online for current ferry information
Is correct, around 50 to 60 min
They will sort you to the proper line when you get to the terminal based on destination and reservation.
Not sure, but you can reserve for cars, check the web sight
Not currently. Covid has closed public eating at all Ferry Terminals and on the Vessels.
Not currently.. the food truck is totally closed. There is a couple of vending machines.
Yes
Only if going to Sydney, BC, Canada, which is not currently an option due to border closing. None needed for San Juan's
You won't even need to plunk your WTG pass info in when making the reservations. A credit card is required when making the reservations so WSF can charge you the no-show fee if necessary. They don't care how you pay for passage at the ticket booth, just that you have a reservation.
$46.00 for Car & Driver and $13.75 per adult passenger
Fireworks, cryogenic oxygen, a lot of plackarded items, and even propane and gasoline in too large a container or too large an amount. https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Ferries/security/
No there are not.
It is not, here is a link to the schedule. https://www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/scheduledetailbyroute.aspx?route=ana-sj-sid
No, reservations are not usually necessary.
I hope WiFi is available, but I have never checked. I hope somebody else knows the answer.
Right now.
Yes, parking costs money. Do not rember the rate. Would call ahead to book.
Don't know, please check with them.
There's a park right on the water there at the ferry terminal, short walk down first Street is the pier and Beacon Ave has many attractions!
No, not during the winter season (jan-mar)
When you get to the terminal, you get your tickets and pay via the drive-through booths, right before you park at the boarding waiting area. You never have to leave your car.
Ferry reservations are necessary now even though for decades first come first on until it was filled worked just fine. Now,you HAVE to make a reservation. Each way is $10 which is charged to your card if you don't show up. If you are there on time and have to wait in a long line and your still on time but your 30 minutes until the ferry departs you may still lose your reservation. And get charged. No later than 45 minutes before and last ferry of the night is 9 or 10 pm. When island hopping and using the ferry...no charge. Summer months are tricky. Alot of the people who rent their houses on Orcas will make a bunch of reservations for their guests if needed and 24 hours before if not needed they will cancel without penalty. There are tiers that open up 2 weeks, 2 days....blah blah blah so it's supposed to fair.Always get a reservation for the ferry, shop on Anacortes because stuff on the islands is hella spendy and there are a lot of places that still only take cash.
