Applied for a license out of state. Got sent an email after my fingerprints were sent that they didn't receive my nursys and never returned to me after I sent them my receipt. Wasted my money because they ended up telling me they closed my application and told me to resend and REPAY for another license application. Waste of money.

The Washington board of nursing was beyond accommodating for my case. My license took some time due being an out of state graduate and completing an accelerated program. I must have called the office fifty times in the course of two of and half months. I think I spoke with every single phone operator more than once. Each and every time that I spoke with someone by phone or through email they were very polite, respectful, and truthful with their answers. They never made me feel like I was bugging them. They made it feel like they truly cared about me as an individual and as a nurse. I wish I could put into words how deeply appreciative I am of their help through a long and stressful journey. I'm eternally grateful.

I've had a positive experience with getting information from the Board of Nursing. I've been on hold for more than an hour when trying to get through to another state.

They are pleasant helpful and efficient. I am from California where phone holds usually exceed one hour and it has taken more than 3 months for California to get my information to Washington. WA may not be perfect but they could be a whole lot worse.

Yes you can, the initial licensure dictates your scope of practicer. This is what your WA license was based on was the Associate program. They do have programs they do not accept but that is for a change in scope IE: LPN to RN etc * also some NP programs

Hi, I did 8 years ago. Finished BSN in TN and moved the next day to WA. Registered to take NCLEX here with no problems. Good luck.
