It's a standard Courtyard. Rooms have that '70s vibe. Rooms need updating for carpet, wall colors, and furniture. It like all other Marriott properties, hit or miss. Breakfast was good

The Staff were friendly, the amenities were nice, and the location was convenient. Very much appreciated that they had a discount for attendees of our event down the road and working with us for 2 separate reservations. Room layout wasn't perfect but was definitely workable.

I am not rating this a 1 due to the staff or the rooms or location. I am rating this a 1 due to a situation that happened. We booked this room for 2 nights because of a dance competition. It ran lates both Saturday and Sunday night. Being tired not wanting to drive the two hours home. Front desk knew we were very tired and reason for 2nd night stay. Hotel cleared out 2nd night as other dance families went home. In room and ready to relax a little after 8. Room next door was very loud as we actually thought they were fighting. When not quiet by 10 (2 hours) I went to complain at front desk. Management reported that it was taken care of. By 11 however (1 hour) it was continuing. I yelled through the wall to be quiet! By this point we were all still awake and knew that the party next door was not over anytime soon. We being up packed our belongings of 2 days and checked out. It was then that the front desk said “ it was military in the next room”. So I respect my veterans but because they serve my country they have the right to be rude in a hotel? They are more important than other guests. Management offered to give us another room at the point that we were ready to just leave. Why didn’t management make the military guests move to a new room as we had already been established in ours for the 2 night stay. Why with a now empty hotel did they even place young individuals just coming in for a stay beside guest they knew were tired and did not want to be up all night. This is the first time ever writing a number 1 review. Management made us feel like we were less important because they were “military in from Arlington for the night.” That we were just being difficult still awake at only 11 at night. I initially reported they were fighting due to the volume. I was quickly redirected by management that they were “only talking loudly”. So then that was ok? Management also said that “ I know them”. Indicating that my complaints were unjust and I was being ridiculous. Management stated that “one had broken their collar bone and she didn’t feel they would be up all night because of his medication.”. Again justifying that it was ok for their behavior and not mine (complaining) because they were military as she kept reminding me.

We stayed for the Pennsylvania Dairy Princess Pageant for two nights and found the rooms to be exceptional!! Sheryl greeted us at the front desk upon arrival on Friday night and answered all of our questions about local food and places of interest. She was very upbeat and positive, which was wonderful to have after a long drive. When we opened the door to our room, we were very pleased with the cleanliness and the upkeep of the room! Very spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable! We also had a balcony and it was so nice to enjoy the sunrise and sunset!! I highly recommend this hotel if you happen to be visiting Altoona Pennsylvania!!
