We only did gem mining and Putt Putt Golf. The boys loved it. I have toured the cavern before and really liked it but I didn't think our younger ones would. I spent more in the gift shop than on the mining and golf. Bathrooms were nice and food is available. There is NO cell phone service. We plan to go back in a couple weeks.

Terrible. We drove from Pittsburgh, PA, to take a cavern tour, arriving around 2:30 pm. Desk staff told us the next available tour was at 3:15 pm, with no self-guided option. I asked if we would be joining a group. They said it was a "slow day" with NO ONE else signed up for a late afternoon tour (tours end at 4 pm). My kids had gone to look at the gift shop toys under my husband's supervision, so I told the desk staff we would return soon to purchase their new toys AND the tour tickets. Within minutes (seriously MINUTES!) we returned to the desk to make our purchase. SURPRISE! A tour group of 30+ people JUST arrived for a 3 pm tour (we were not offered a 3 pm tour start time!) - apparently with a reservation they had overlooked (?). She said we would have to wait for their return to tour the caverns (tours last between 45-60 min). We had just talked to these girls MINUTES earlier about purchasing tickets - with no mention of an expected tour group. It was a disorganized mess, and we could not wait another hour for a tour, knowing we had a 4-hour drive back to Pittsburgh. In the end, we left without a tour. My kids have a couple of over-priced stuffed animals to remind us of our fun day-trip to Smoke Hole Caverns which ended in no view of a cavern. In the end, my suggestion is to make a reservation - whether they remember you have one or not. With plenty of other cavern options in PA, WV, and VA - we won't return to this one.

Fantastic stay, clean rooms, quiet location right next to the mountains. Close to Seneca rocks, black water falls and spruce knob as well as a bunch of other activities. The Smoke Hole caverns are awesome totally worth checking out. People are lovely at the store. Would return again and again.

It was a pretty place, great scenery and friendly people. We were not aware before our stay, that there is no AC in the motel rooms and after an 84 degree day it was kind of miserable. Would definitely recommend bringing a fan to put in front of the window

Yes...was there just a couple weeks ago and I'm sure they said they are open year round.
The kitchen is fully furnished! There is a 12 cup coffee maker, but not a Keurig. We provide towels and linens with daily housekeeping as well.
Yes there are little buckets on the porch. Just no inside smoking.

I honestly can't remember if they do at the RV sites or not. I don't think they do at the hotel or cabins I could be wrong though. Check out their website or call them. The woman who I spoke with about a last minute reservation was very friendly!
