What a gem! We happened upon this beautiful farm as we were driving through town. Despite being closed, we were still allowed to feed and pet the alpacas. We were given an impressive amount of information about them and they allowed us to linger and visit for quite awhile. Gorgeous place and absolutely charming hosts!

Awesome place for kids, as well as adults who like animals. The llamas are very friendly and interested in people (or rather, their food). Most let you pet them. There's no staff supervision here, making it a very nice private experience - just you and the alpacas. Makes it way more enjoyable than at places with constant supervision and unnecessary chatter. Folks come to play with the llamas, not to talk to humans, alright?! Props for making it happen here! Admission is free, but food packs are $5. If you aren't crazy with feeding, one bag can last for a whole family. Also, they have a great gift shop with actual llama products.

If you are traveling along Interstate 70 between Glenwood Springs and Rifle, you must make a stop at this fun, family-friendly farm and boutique in Silt. It's a fully functioning alpaca farm owned by a couple of nice, friendly people on acres and acres of beautiful Colorado land. You can pick up some treats to feed the Alpacas in the gift shop, as well as every possible iteration of alpaca-borne gifts you can imagine - yarn, socks, hats, vests, etc. Do your Christmas shopping here! By the way, Alpacas and llamas are not the same animal, as we learned.

Cute short stop that is worth the detour off I-70. We are camping near by so we figured we would check it out. As you are driving down the road before you turn in, it looks like a fail. But once you turn down the short dirt road, it’s a pleasant surprise. There is a cute wooden house that I would love to see inside, but it is not open for that. There is a small boutique to the right where you can get handmade Alpaca Fur hats, toys and all. Plus some magnets and shirts. They also have small bags of feed for the Alpacas. $3 a bag or 2 for $5. Not bad, since actually feeding and petting the Alpacas is free. The Alpacas (there is something like 30 of them. Maybe more. Are in 4 different areas. It is completely free to walk up and pet them. No catch, no signing in, no buddy to hound you. Just park and walk up. The place is immaculate. They were rakeing and picking up leaves and Alpaca poop the entire time we were there. It’s so cute and a must see.

I love going there! So much fun watching the animals. Free to get in, but if you want to feed the animals you have to buy the food. The owners are extremely nice. My granddaughter had her birthday party there last year.

It's completely free unless you want to feed the alpacas, then its 1 bag for $3 or 2 bags for $5. They also have a shop with gifts and such.
