This place has not helped me stay clean, it just kept you clean. No good forms of therapy or help from staff. Kids are looked down upon as animals and are being free to fight without any real punishment. Very horrible management and just a bad place. My mom said juvie was probably a better option since they know how to actually run a facility, not a mom who is insecure about anything that comes her way, like feed back and a man enrolled in the the military, stuck on his own way of thinking, not letting anyone have choice or word in anything. I also want to clarify that there was alot of judgement due to the clients look and it was horrifyingly obvious. I do not recommend sending your kid here at all, you get no help and you learn nothing in the end. Sorry for the negative feed back but this place needs to be shut down or to get a new director and administrative staff so balance can be made and the kids can be taught the right way, not all based on material that just worked on 1 person.

I went to this program in 1999 and had a struggle but was able to go to a halfway house after and found success. I loved it there and some of the best experiences in my life happened here. Have such a great admiration for these staff and facilities because it’s all up to the individual to receive the help.

If I could rate this place in the negative I would. One star is extremely considerate. My son is currently at this facility and I received a call today from the administrator and counselor stating that they will be starting the "discharge process", due to his unwillingness to participate in treatment. My son has a mental health diagnosis as well as a substance abuse problem...I was told this was a dual diagnosis facility that would work with kids. I was very hopeful for a good outcome, as all other options had failed...Not the case! In my son's 3 week stay at this facility I've called on MULTIPLE occasions and was not able to get through to a single staff member until I called the outpatient line and was then transferred to inpatient...this tells me there was clearly a different ring for outside calls. I was given the name & number of my son's counselor and left her a voice mail that was never returned. My son's probation officer experienced the exact same barriers when attempting to contact the facility. On the second week my son was allowed a 5 minute phone call to notify me that visiting would be the following day (Wednesday) from 1-4, and no weekend visiting. I feel an adult should have contaced me directly, rather than my son, to properly notify me of visiting hours and to give me an update on the medication he had been started on (an antidepressant that I did not give permission for him to take). Now, I work in a school and am in my office til 4 pm on Monday through Friday....how are working parents supposed to be able to visit their children and be an active part of their treatment process if they are only allowed visiting during the prime hours of the work week? When I asked the administrator this question she gave me the excuse that they only had enough staffing to allow one weekday visit per week. Unacceptable for a program that lasts up to 6 months. When I questioned the administrator as to why the facility does not answer the phone or return the multiple VM that were left by myself and probation she turned the question around onto me and stated they made multiple attempts to contact me as to make it appear as though I was the one unable to be reached. As I previously mentioned, I work in a school and am in my office next to my phone 90% of my day and would have received these calls immediately had that been the case. She then proceeded to say that they do not answer their phones because they are not sitting in front of a computer or phone all day & and are solely on the floor with the "kiddos". I have every intention of contacting the ombudsman in charge of compliance for this facility. There are many things needing to be discussed. This is NOT an acceptable way to treat families of children who have very vulnerable needs and they should be ashamed of themselves for how they are running this facility. Please do not send your children to this place.

My husband was offered a job as a teacher at the Renacer clinic a few months ago. To accept the job required that we relocate a great distance which we did because of the confidence we had the two year contract he was given as well as the good-faith that an employer is sincere in an offer of employment requiring relocation. We hired movers on our own dime as our moving stipend was to be incorporated into his paycheck for the remainder of the first year of employment. After being in Seattle for only a few weeks, my husband was fired without cause and without justification with no severance. They simply told him he wasn't a "good fit". They justified this by saying that the first three months were a trial period and his contract would not be binding until after that period. With no way to afford a lawyer and no savings to help us float for a few months, we had no choice but to move back home at great personal expense and are now able to focus only on repaying our debts and surviving. Because of SeaMar, a dedicated educator with a master's degree is financially broken and on food stamps. If you are searching for reviews of SeaMar because you are looking to be an employee there, this should be all you need to see. If you are considering SeaMar for your youth addiction treatment needs, please understand that this facility does not respect or value the children in their care and just wants to move them through as quickly as possible.
