I can't wait until the project they are working on is over but they got me in and out fast. The people who work there are very friendly and I really like the lady who works in collecting the money she is very beautifully woman and she nice.

Jacob was super helpful in the recycling center! Excellent customer service!

Best facility that I have experienced. Commingled recycling is very refreshing. Also no fees for old paint. The origins of the "dump" was to keep it from being buried in the backyard or thrown on the side of the road. Please continue to keep it inexpensive and easy to keep our county beautiful.

The hard working employees provide a very efficient way for the community to deal with there refuse. It's a very efficient operation, usually will little wait. We have 5 large trash cans that we use to hold our bags of refuse. When full, we plan our shopping at Wal-Mart to go along with "trash day." The cost of hauling our own trash to the Transfer Station is a fraction of the cost for home pick up service. This is quite a bit of savings. Thanks for a job well done.

Waste - styrofoam is not recyclable
No, we do not recycle toilets, but they can be brought to the transfer station. FYI, here's a link to view the fees for transfer station in St.Helens for items to dump. https://www.columbiacountyor.gov/media/Solid%20Waste%20and%20Recycling/Solid%20Waste%20DOCUMENTS/tranf_stat_rates_FY%20019-2020.pdf And here's a link to view the Vernonia transfer station's rates and hours: http://wmnorthwest.com/transferstation/vernonia.htm
Hi John, yes, you can bring mattresses to the transfer station. The cost depends on the weight - you are charged by the weight of the items you bring. So if you have more to throw away, you might want to bring it all at the same time.
Hi Karen, yes you can bring antifreeze to the transfer station.
The discount is only on the minimum amount. I think it's like $4 or $5
Yes, they weigh your car going in and out. If you are under a certain weight, it's around $22 or so. It's been awhile, I think it's $21 but could be wrong. It takes a lot of trash for it to cost more.
Last time I checked yes. Extra fee I think.
Yes but we are not Waste Management. We are Waste Connections!
I saw vehicles going by work so I think they are. You might want to call first, though.
Take them to Stans on Old Portland Road I think its around $10
This info was effective 01 July 2017 and is still in effect on 25 August 2018. Recycling Paper, Cardboard, Cans & Bottles, Plastic Sacks, and Electronics - no charge. Other items (Anti-Freeze, Appliances, Tires, etc) have a Fee but it varies. Trash is $21.75 up to 320# then $132 a Ton. Seniors are $13.50 up to 300#. Yard Debris is $21.75 up to 860#. During their Household Hazardous Waste Collections, Fluorescent Tubes, Anti-Freeze, and Auto Batteries are Free.
There are many other, better ways to dispose of dirt. As you drive around, look for signs posted by people wanting Landfill. That gives you & our environment a Win Win!
The Transfer has a free Household Hazardous Collection several times a year. The next one is 23 February 2019.
No check the website
Next one is 23 February 2019.
They do take hazardous waste. I would assume so. Call them to double check
I guess everyone would like a day off also. Sometimes you have to deal with what is handed you.
